spent 2 days playing and staying at this scottsdale resort nov 8th and 9th,while not the longest or the most secinic golf course in the area it was in very good shape...the greens were consist in speed most of them being a back to forward slope and almost all had bunkers on the sides of the greens with a fifteen foot grass aproach..course is very female and higher handicap friendly, it is a parkland style with no desert areas or forced carries/very popular with the senior crowd,great 19th patio resturant and bar and a golf school on the premises(john jacobs)the resort on premises makes a great stay and play..hotel 9+ golf 7+/highly recomend

Played here 7/25. Walked on at about 1:37 PM. Scottsdale got pounded with some much needed rain for 3 days prior to playing. It was drizzling as well through most of the round. Surprisingly, the course was in great condition considering how wet the valley was! This course is not like Quintero or other elite courses in the valley, but for the value it could not be beat.

Greens- 7/10 Softer due to the rain but ran pretty true. Not as wet as I thought they would be.

fairways- 8/10 A few puddles scattered throughout the course. But they seemed to have pretty good drainage that it was easily playable.

rough- 6/10 THICK

sand- 4/10 Reminded me of a beach at a lake. Deep water in middle and wet sand around.

water- 9/10 Good place of hazards and not overbearing and in random spots.

tee boxes- 7.5/10 Some soft spots but grass was abundant and was able to find firmer spots at all holes for tee placement.

POP was 3.5 hours. Played a solo round but got held up at pretty much every hole on the tee boxes. Probably would have played in about 2.5/3 hours if a little less crowded. This course is relatively easy, reminds me of an old CC type of course. Enjoyable round and would definitely recommend especially for golfers that like sprawling fairways.

Went out morning of Tuesday 7/23 as a single. Played the front nine quickly with just another single in front of me than joined him for the back as we ran into the very slow men's league in front of us. Oh well at least he was good company.

The first monsoon storm of the season had rolled through the night before and hit the course pretty hard. Fairways had some very wet spots, there were a few tree limbs down, and lots of smaller tree debris down on the course, such as pine needle on greens. Given the severity of the storm and that it was just the next morning, I wouldn't give them any real bad marks for not having everything cleaned up.

Overall, the course was in decent shape. They were starting to punch fairways this week. had done 18 and 17 and were starting on the 16th as we played it. That's normally a quick recovery issue, once the work is done and cleaned up. Greens had been done about a month ago and were very well healed and excellent. I saw one green with a few dead spots but otherwise they rolled true, if a bit slow (hey, it was wet out).

Bunkers all had decent sand in them (one had plenty enough to allow me to bury, even though it was wet - I might have preferred a crispier bunker, but oh well!). Tee boxes had a lot of divots but the markers were placed appropriately to avoid them as best as possible.

Not the most inspiring course in Phoenix, but you can do worse.

I played Orange on 7/28 and teed off around 1015. The course had quite a bit of play going on but not super busy.
The range was in the best shape I have ever seen at Orange Tree. Still have to purchase range balls at Orange Tree from a ball dispenser.
The course was in fair Arizona summer condition. Quite a few bare spots in the fairways but nothing crazy. They were doing maintenance all through the course. A large number of workers were present creating some challenges but understandable.
The greens were slow but similar through the course. Some tee boxes were chewed up and rock hard. The true negative of the course was the condition of the sand traps. Most were hard as a rock causing the club to bounce. A few seemed to have actual sand in them.
We chose the course because of location and the price point. Not a horrible choice but nothing to wow anybody at this point of the year.

I played this course on 4/5/12. The course is an older, flat, resort style course with houses lining most holes. Many of the holes look the same and the layout is not very exciting. The course conditions were decent , but the greens were just sanded and the sand they used had alot of larger grains that effected the putting. The fairways and rough were pretty good , it was nice to see the rough overseeded. Many of the bunkers were short on sand , which made for inconsistant shots. The staff was friendly , the cart lady did a good job and the pace of play was good. They had a pretty good driving range and practice facilities. All in all a decent place to play , but for the money there are nicer more interesting/challenging courses in the area.

Played here today. I played this course about 4 or 5 years ago, and unfortunately, not as nice as I remember it. Apparently it has recently changed ownership so I suppose there's hope. Nothing awful, but also nothing as nice as it once was which is too bad as its a nice layout, and the greens are challenging to hit with most being well guarded by front bunkers. Today the course was very soggy from watering, the fairways a bit thin, tee boxes a bit uneven, and bunkers missing adequate sand. The greens were mostly smooth but with some damage noticeable. Lets hope this course regains its former form.

Played Dec 13. Nice old style resort course. Flat with slightly elevated tee boxes and greens. Lots of big trees. Fairways not as nice as in the past, didn't overseed very well. Greens were very nice. Have to be careful in the traps, some thin spots, otherwise great sand. Not a great layout, but enjoyable. Good service.
