Played here Wednesday evening. Needed a golf fix and went off at 5:09. This place is cool. It caters to locals. They keep the club house open til 6 and even give a discounted after 5 tee time for $20. Most closes shut the club house at 5 and try to get you off the course at 7 maybe 7:30. Typically the cart guys will give you death stares when you come back late at other places. But here they are laid back. Want you to have a good time. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere. That being said. The greens were bad. Without pulling in tourists this course has let the course go to summer conditions. It appears the greens were punch maybe a few weeks ago. There wasn't holes, but a residual sandiness and patchy dried out grass. The ball rolled okay but once it lost speed it wouldn't track. Very inconsistent from green to green. I had the ball stop in a divot 3 times on the lip. The first green is horrendous shape and few others were poor. But most were okay. Fairways are going. A lot of brown and dried out areas. A lot of the tee boxes and around the greens had dead dried out areas. Nothing terrible. The course is in solid shape for a local course in the peak of summer with discounted green fees. The course is fun though. A few holes are some of the funnest out here to be honest, just a poor layout and flow. With a few changed holes and a little more space this could be a solid course. It's actually a good test of your short game now with the dry firm conditions. 1st time I played I played conservatively and it was a day at the office. But I tried to overpower the course today and it punched me in the Jaw. There was a little wind, and there is not much room behind a lot of the greens. With the firm conditions and wind it didn't take much for a ball to bounce into OB noodle house. I also holed out from 79 so that always makes the round funner. With managed expectations this is a fun round.

Played here last week after work twilight. Kinda of cool they offer an after 5 super twilight rate. Off to a good note. Customer service in the pro shop was excellent here I have to say.

Played here last week after work twilight. Kinda of cool they offer an after 5 super twilight rate. Off to a good note. Customer service in the pro shop was excellent here I have to say.

Course is in solid shape. Greens were good and rolled well. Fairways are starting to go for summer. Much more brown and bare spots than I have seen on other courses. Tee boxes were also worn and have had some play. I don't believe I hit it in the sand this day.

This has been the hardest course to review. Sometimes splicing an experience down element by element can take away what is most important in the first place. At the end of the day we play golf to have fun, and this course delivered a fun golf experience. I had a blast playing it.

However, while nothing is bad with this course, it's like three different courses in one with bad design and flow. The best way I can describe it is a few mix matched singles on an album with no flow. The course is too short at 6,004 yards and seemed to be limited on space. It starts off great as you climb into the hills with great views of a true desert course. No 4 is one of the best holes in the valley in my opinion. But then the course turns inland and you have flat house lined holes that feels like a 70s country club. Then there' this bizarre par 3 created in front of the restaurant that was very artificial and out of place. Then the course circles a concrete man made lake covered in moss. Not very scenic nor unique. Then 18 is like a swampy marsh Southern style hole. Very odd mix of holes.

That being said. I had a great time. It's a fun course. It reminds me of Tecolote in San Diego with the holes playing in and out of the canyon. I would rate it as a fun course to play with family and non serious golfers.

Course itself is located in a nice development in the hills of Cave Creek. Nice practice green and decent clubhouse. Disappointed that the course charged $5 for range balls after paying $90 for a weekday green fee.

The course itself has many beautiful views of the surrounding area along with many significant elevation changes. Fairways were in good shape (although really wet) and the greens were slick and rolled true. Tee boxes were a bit chewed up for my liking.

Probably won't return here only because it does not fit my game at all. Almost every hole is tight target golf. Premium is on hitting the ball straight on every single hole.

This is the first time that I have played this course. Played on April 5th. This is an older "traditional" type course. It is quite a short course, 6000 yards from the tips I think. I had heard that it was a very tight course, with lots of uneven lies. Although there are certainly some holes that are fairly tight, I didn't find the course overall to be that tight or narrow. The greens are smaller than most of the courses in the Phoenix/Scottsdale region, they were smooth and ran true. Many of the greens have a false front, and if the pins are placed on the front part of the green you may have a difficult 2 putt if above the hole, and it can be tough not to be above the hole on those particular greens. There are some dramatic elevation changes, especially on a few of the par 3's, so you may be clubbing down as many a 2 clubs. Most of the lies on the fairway's were level lies, again there were some holes that the fairways weren't totally flat but that's just fine. Overall the course was in fine condition. I did think it was a tad expensive for the area, all in I paid just under $100 with cart, and I think there are similar type courses (and some better ones too) in the Phoenix area that are quite a bit less. It was an enjoyable track to play, however I'm not too sure that I'd rush back....no particular reason. It is worth playing as the scenery is good, plenty of wild life, as we came across a bobcat - or he came across us- on one of the tee boxes on the front 9. He just had a look at us and wandered on his way. Staff were good, pace of play was very good, under 4 hours for us (850 or so tee time).

Played Saturday 13th October 2012. Course was in excellent shape both fairways and greens. The course was full and pace of play slow the starter gave us fair warning and a thorough briefing on what to expect on the holes. Like all courses you play for the first time there are always hidden or unexpected aspects but if you read and follow the advice on the back of the card some problems may be avoided. The advice relating to hitting less clubs on the par threes with severe elevation change, drops of over a hundred plus feet , should be taken on board. The fairways on some of the holes are narrow and a challenge but there are landing areas and if you focus and play within yourself a good score is to be had. The fairways were lush and in great condition, cart paths only having just come out of over seeding. The greens were in good shape apart from one or two pitch marks left unattended by some of the Saturday golfers. The greens were running fairly straight but medium to slow in pace - you need to commit and get the ball to the hole. With six par threes and four par fives this course has a yardage of just over six thousand yards but do not be fooled there are plenty of challenges. Played the Blue tees and while the first major elevation change is up hill on hole number four the number one stroke hole this hole can be had with a well placed tee shot the same for hole number 16 the second stoke hole keep it left of the tree and you have a good approach. Enjoyed the course , the restaurant was excellent, the staff courteous, a definite if I am in the area would play again but probably want to do it mid-week.

Played April 10. Been meaning to play this course for a long time. Kind of disappointed, didn't live up to expectation. On the front nine you play to a wash, then on the side of a hill, then back across the wash. No houses, but lots of desert and narrow fairways with no bailout around greens. Back nine in houses with narrow fairways with no bailout around greens. As you can probably tell, I don't like narrow fairways and no runoff around greens. Course in good shape, greens didn't hold, see above. Spend a little more and play Boulders.

The sand traps looked more suitable for off road racing than golf, almost devoid of any sand, and filled with dirt and large rocks. Everywhere else was maintained quite nicely. This is a relatively short course with lots of elevation changes, and beautiful scenery.

Played March 14. Very scenic course, a lot of elevation changes...most of the par 3's are a two club drop. Fairways are pretty narrow for the most part, with some blind shots that probably cost me a couple of strokes (I'll know better next time). You're either on the grass or you're unplayable in the desert. Look at the slope and rating when choosing your tee...the whites play really short, the blues are more like regular men's. Greens are pretty firm and smooth, but a little slow especially against the grain (aren't they all?). Staff was nice. The starter explained everything in great detail, like we'd never golfed, ever, but I guess he's supposed to. GPS carts would really help with the blind shots...my skycaddie wasn't all that helpful. The starter said in lieu of GPS carts just read the tips on the card..."down the middle with a slight draw" was the most common tip...yeah that helps;-P. Pace of play was ok except there's a stretch of reachable par 5, par 3, driveable par 4, par 3, that really locks everyone up, so relax and enjoy the views.
