Had very low expectations for this course, played it last week and was pleasantly surprised.
It is a mostly flat parkland style local muni in a nice setting, with a few elevation changes on the front. Greens were pretty quick with good roll, you could see evidence of recent aeration, but they putted smooth. Good lies in the fairways and not much rough. Not a difficult course but it was fun and worth playing.
Got a hotdeal for less than $30 w/cart. The cart was sucking wind on the first hole and barely made it home (with a few pushes, especially up the one hill). But the course is an easy walk, so I would suggest that.
I wasn't in any bunkers, but they looked thin, and my playing partner said they were rock hard. Otherwise, everything you would want from a local muni.

I play here all the time so I know this course pretty well. For the last few months there has been very little water put on this course and it shows. For a time you could not hit the ball onto the greens as it would just roll of. It’s improved somewhat. In some areas the fairways are so dry that the club would bounce and there would be no divot. The bunkers have always been poor at best here. There is no sand, it’s pretty much ground up dirt.
The situation could be changing as they will be filling the canals this coming week so there will be cheap water available. I sure hope so.

this Is my regular golf course so I see a variety of conditions throughout the year. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. A great course to walk on in the afternoons. The course is in good condition for just coming out of winter. The greens are a little bumpy, but the course gets a lot of play. The weak part here are the bunkers, they’re inconsistent from hole to hole. Some have no sand and the ones that do it more like dirt. It’s very affordable and a good value. SLO play warning.

I was in Modesto on Thursday for business, but got out for a round at Creekside in the afternoon. Originally had a 2:30 tee time, but I got there a bit early and they let me go off by myself a little before 2:00. It was very busy out there on a picture perfect day, so groups were stacked ahead of me. A twosome caught up and joined me on the 3rd hole and then we gained another single at the turn. Overall, though, the pace was still just a little over 4 hours. The course was in good shape all around. It is green and looks to be coming into its best part of the season. The tee boxes were fine. The fairways were generally good with just a few weak areas scattered throughout. The rough was pretty good, but a bit inconsistent with some thin spots and some really thick/deep spots, and everything in between. I was in one bunker and it had good sand. The greens were very nice, soft and receptive on approaches and rolling smooth at medium speeds on putts. I did fix up my share of ballparks, though, from discourteous players ahead. This is a solid muni course. The last reviewer noted it was a good "confidence course" and I concur. It is a really forgiving layout with wide fairways and not too much trouble to get into. The greens are big and can be tricky to read, so that's the course's biggest element of defense. Otherwise, you can grip it and rip it on most holes and good scores are there for the taking. The front nine has a cool stretch of holes in the middle and more doglegs in play, but it is also much more open from tee to green. The back nine tightens up some more, but plays straighter back and forth. The 18th is a fun finisher.

This has become my regular course to practice and play at. Since Kemper took over last year I have seen constant improvement in the overall course operation. The pro shop doesn't look like a going out of business golf course. It has some nice merchandise and the moral of the personnel has noticeably improved. The course has been improving slowly. The fairways are still pretty weedy but for the most areas are good to play of off. The greens are getting much more consistent as far as speed and conditions are concerned. The two areas that still need improvement is first and foremost the POP, there are a lot of retired people that play here due to the most reasonable price, they even ride and still take 5+ hours. The second item that needs to be fixed are the bunkers, they are inconsistent when it comes to the amount of dirt in them, it would be great to play out of sand. This is a good course for the price well worth it.

Been playing here on a more regular basis because it saves me gas. The course was just taken over by Kemper sports management, I don't expect any changes until next year. This can be a good muni if they would take better care of it.
At this time they are stocking the pro shop and cleaning up the clubhouse. As far as the course is concerned the fairways are like concrete right now as they have cut back on watering, this also results in large parts of the fairways looking brown and dead. This also can easily make a very good drive turn into crap due to the rollout. Not good. The only we'll kept part of the course are the greens, they water them constantly so they are soft and slow. As mentioned in an earlier post the tee boxes need to be leveled and reseeded as a good stance which is also level is at a premium. The good news is that the bunkers haven't gotten any worse,you know what that means! The green fees are less than $30 which makes it passable. If it wasn't so close I would just drive by.

For a muni not to bad. Worth the green fees to walk, 24.50. Greens are the main defense on this course big sloping back to front. Rolling very good about a 9 or 10 on the stimp. Fairways lush with a few dry spots, around greens hit or miss a lot of thin lies. Bunker good tee boxes need to be leveled but playable. Play the blues for a little more challenge.
