I am a 25 handicap and I have played this course 4 times in the past 1.5 years. Two weeks ago the wind was a factor for the first time, but it was a beautiful day otherwise. The course is challenging for me because of the amount of water, some of it not readily visible. The fairways are in mostly good condition with a number of strategically placed bunkers. I have always found the greens to be in excellent condition, while the greenside bunkers are often wetter than they should be. While my overall experience at this course has always been good, my only issues are that (1) I rarely see a marshall (which has affected pace at times) and (2) the distance to many of the tee boxes (I am a walker). The sounds of construction can be a distraction at times, but those are the least of my problems. The 19th hole amenities are excellent. Compared to other courses I have played(not just this area) I think Pheasant Run offers a good value for the price which should only get better as some of the minor problems are ironed out, construction stops and the course grows up.

I played in Late September, way overwatered; No wonder it is a swamp during the winter. I can't believe there were no marshalls to monitor the slow pace of play. You better stock your own cooler too, since there is no water or cart person.

Played early round on Sunday (10/16). Fairways and greens were in great shape. I hadn't play Pheasant Run in several months so the added water on back nine was a pleasant suprise. Rates are at $53 weekends now. I really enjoy this course. Off the first tee by 7 am and off the island green on 18 at 10:15. sweet! Reminds me a lot of Rancho Vista in Palmdale with more bunkering around the greens and more multi-tiered greens.

construction hampers a enjoyable golf game. The water when completed will add a new dimension to his flat windy valley course
