Since the time when new management took over, Pajaro Valley G.C. has started to really shine from its old soft self. This course can be a brute if the supervisor so wishes to tighten the fairways and less water the greens. A fun place to have a go mainly upon the repeat round as the first time player will find no less than 7 blind shots. An old design feature that is a change from the modern "see where you wish to land" golf courses. It is walkable if not abit hilly at times. Visually interesting. When the wind is up, the Par 3's are a challenge. The green size can be med-sm to med-large with good speed. Becareful not to be above the hole as it can be a scary decent. Some holes have the feeling of the Kings and Queens courses at Gleneagles, Scotland. The practice range is a little iffie conditionwise. Too bad there is not some side-hill to practice on before you get to the real thing out there. One playing partner was a tv producer from the UK who had just arrived from LA and upon finishing he gave Pajaro a thumbs-up vote. Was once told by an oldtimer that when Pajaro first opened for play, the greens were browns. Dirt "greens." An old golf course with some very large diameter trees. Go in with an open mind and enjoy.
