The flag is always going to on the left side of the green as the right side has no spot flat enough for a pin placement. You have to aim for the flag on your approach as most everything right will just roll off the front, leaving an impossibly tough pitch shot.

The tee shot on #1 is the most intimidating shot on the course. Not only are there people you don’t know watching, there is a webcam watching and it is the first hole at Pebble. Just choose a club that you are comfortable with and can hit. Once this one shot is out of the way you can go on with the rest of the round. 200 yards and inn the fairway is fine.
