Walked the Blues (2002/29.7/95.0) in 2H early afternoon. $14 to walk nine holes on a Sunday afternoon. Played with Cal Poly SLO recent graduates Garret and Lindsay, very pleasant 2some to be matched with. Breezy, clear and in the 70's made for a nice stroll. I may well be the first person in history to play Sea Pines Golf Resort the same week they played Pebble Beach Golf Links. Those 2 courses are about as far apart as you can get on the golf course spectrum. This course is close to Costco and I wanted to quickly get in a few swings, perfect fit. Had played here once before, so knew what to expect. Executive par 31 layout. You have two par 3's to start, then four medium to short par 4's, then finish with three par 3's, two of which are over 200 yards. Has some fun holes with a couple of lakes to play over or around, not a complete push over. Playing conditions were about as expected. Tees really chewed up even for an executive/par 3 course. Many are crowned and did not look like any divots had been repaired in a good while. Fairways and rough both a mixture of grasses with decent coverage, winter thin. There are no sand traps on this course. Greens putted medium speed and had a decent amount of ball marks. Firm, I actually made more than my share of putts, so I should not complain. Couple I was with took a cart that was upgraded with nice GPS. No on course services. Well stocked, small pro shop that had a very friendly attendant who was your starter/cart person and guy behind the counter. Restaurant on site had a bunch of people eating outside. Nice views of Morro Rock and Morro Bay on several holes. Rough around the edges, but if you do not have unrealistic expectations, could be a fun round. Recommended with that in mind.

Spent the weekend in Morro Bay and stayed here in Los Osos. Great resort (IMO) with a good restaurant on site and a fun 9 hole course, to walk (or ride) to sharpen ones game. Not long by any stretch (2000 yards from Blue) but small greens, water, elevation changes and wind. Lots of wind in the PM. I really enjoyed the layout and the conditions of greens, fairways and tee boxes were really good. An enjoyable resort, with many amenities (see their website) during ones stay. Quite, clean and great customer service.

Walked the Blues (2002/29.7/95.0) in 1.5H on a GN "Hot Deal" for $14.49 after fees. The weather was clear, breezy and around 65. Par 31 nine hole Executive course. One medium length par 4, three short par 4's and a good combination of par 3's ranging from 102 - 203 yards along with a couple of lakes make this a fun layout. Tees were pretty chewed up, good coverage but well below average overall. Lots of unfixed divots, and there was no divot mix provided to repair anything. Fairways and Rough had good coverage and were mowed down. Both were decent to play from. There are no sand traps on this course. The smallish greens were mediocre. Medium speed, firm and fairly bumpy. Small pro shop, the course is partnered with a lodge/resort. Flat, easy to walk. While no holes play right at the water, you go have some nice ancillary views of Morro Bay and Morro rock. Decent layout with some fun holes, just a little rough around the edges from a maintenance perspective. Not a destination course, but if you are already close by, worth a play if you desire a shorter course. However, $14.49 is a bit high to walk this short 9 hole course.

Played here during the first week of November (11/8). It's one of our favorite places to play when we are in this area. It's a 9 hole executive course. It can be easily walked or you can rent a cart. Our favorite part about playing here are the views of Morro Bay from the course. Can't get these views anywhere else. Price is very reasonable to play here.

Course is in great shape. POP during the week about an 1 1/2 - 2 hours to play 9. Water comes into play on 2 holes. Plus if you're not careful, you can easily hit some of your shots out of bounds. The time we played, we noticed that most of the greens were punched. It was a little sandy putting on the greens. There is a driving range here -- an open field with yardage markers. Course is fairly flat but there were minor hills here if you hit into the valley in the middle on holes #4 and #5.

You can stay here and play here. There is a restaurant and bar here in addition to a hotel.

Played Friday 05/05 on a golf trip with high school buddies. We stayed at the Sea Pines Resort and the golf was included. The rooms are a little outdated but nice. The food in the restaurant was good. Course is in good shape. It is a short executive course with 5 par 3's and 4 par 4's. With the exception of the first hole at only 100 yards all the other par 3's are from 160-200 yards long. Tee boxes are a little beat up but the greens were very nice.

Eaglee and I also played here yesterday. I booked an 11:15 time through GN at $11 and thought that was a decent price for walking 9 holes. There was a tournament earlier in the morning and they were clearing out when we arrived. We literally had the course to ourselves after that.

The course was not in the best shape and seemed to get worse as the round went on. On the first few holes, things seemed pretty lush and green (a bit too shaggy perhaps), but the greens seemed to get worse and worse. The fairways were decent on two of the par-4s (3 and 6), but were pretty ugly on holes 4 and 5 out in the back part of the property nearest the bay . The rough was probably the best part as it was mostly quite lush, green and thick. They had the fairway/rough cuts nicely defined to show the intended contours of the course, so you can see its potential if the fairways and greens were nicer.

I enjoyed most of the layout other than the wacky 6th hole. I'll admit I did have a little higher expectations for Sea Pines as I've always heard good things, so it was maybe a bit of a letdown for me yesterday. Some parts run along the dunes and back bay for a few nice views, though it was quite overcast for us. As a small recreational resort course, it also doubles (and triples) as foot golf and disc golf courses. Most holes have both a big foot golf hole and disc golf chain catcher thing right next to the regular golf green. Something for everybody, I guess.

I caddied for my son in a Special Olympics Tournament at Sea Pines on 5/17. What a great little course. As others have said, the greens were in good shape. Balls didn't seem to leave much of a divot so I'd think they're hard and somewhat fast, but relatively smooth. The first hole is the only short par 3 hole, the rest of the par 3's are mid to longish range. Two being just over 200 yards from tips. The par 4's are relatively short but allow an opportunity to bring out the Driver. Two of the par 4's have water in front of the greens with some strategy being required. The rough was definitely rough and a bit wet, and it can get windy being so close to the ocean(app. 1/2 mile). As others have mentioned nice views and a nice little hotel on the property. I went out for Twilight rate the afternoon before for $10. Great course at a very reasonable price. One other interesting fact was that there are NO bunkers on the course, which can be a good idea for a course of this stature. POP on friday was under 2 hours. With Special Olympics of course it was a bit longer but I would think this is a great little get away for a family or any golfers just wanting to play golf for 2 hours at a reasonable rate. I would rate it a 6 on a 1-10 . Only reason I wouldn't go higher being, I just can't compare it to standard 18 hole course.

Played it on 7/20/11 late evening since we were staying at on site hotel. Executive 9 hole course but with some 280yd type of par 4s thrown in. On holes #4 and #5, it has great views of the southern Morro Bay. It's mostly a beginner learn type of course but longer and set up much better than your local pitch and putt. If your spouse or kids want to join for a round and enjoy the greenery and scenary it'll be a nice course, but for serious golfers probably not.

We played here a few days ago. We love playing here. It's 9 hole executive golf course with great views of the water and Morro Bay. It's easy to walk 9 but you can also rent a cart too. Rates are very reasonable (about $16 on the weekend walking).

Course is in great shape. The greens were real fast today. The fairways were a little wet when we played in the morning, since we played a day after it had rained. Fairways and tee boxes were very lush. Greens are so nice here. The groundskeepers does a great job maintaining the greens. It is one of the best I've seen for an executive course. There are two water carries here on this course but it makes for a little challenge here.
