This was my 3rd round in FL and by far my favorite. This course is absolutely a steal at $39 that I paid. The rack rate was $48 I believe and even that is unbelievable. If this course were in Southern Cal it would fetch over $200. I played the day after some college tournament there and they had another tournament the following week for the Canadian club professionals. The conditions were absolutely wonderful. I was in several bunkers and that sand was so soft, it was certainly penalizing to be in one. Some of these bunkers were also very deep. I remember on one par 5 on the back was the biggest and deepest bunker I have ever seen. These greens are deceptively tricky. I remember I had a 2 foot birdie putt which seemed to break about 3 feet. You certainly had to hit the right part of these greens. There was a first for me here. On hole 8 (if I remember right) there are actually 2 greens (with 2 flags). The one on the right is easier to hit. I didn't see the green on the right from the tee and proceeded to block mine a tad to the right so I still didn't see this. I hit to the green on the left because I thought they just misspoke and meant to say hit on the right side of the green. The fairways were wonderful too and the rough had some bit to it although not over penalizing. This is the Fazio design and the first time I believe I have played one of his courses and the guy in our group summarized Fazio's philosophy pretty well. Short par 4 = diabolical green. The course is going to make you think about your shot selections out there. There is a lot of trouble off the tee. I was shocked that I didn't not lose a ball out here. There's quite a bit of water and marsh land that come into play on basically all holes. This is a must play if you are anywhere close to the area.
