Should get to break loose from this monitor this month and play some golf!

Game was finally coming back around in February. Hoping even after what will likely be over month of no golf that I'll be able to take off where I left off in my progress.

39+45=84 . . . 31 putts w/three count 'em three 3 putts, OUCH! Balboa Park GC. Hit the ball well, just stopped making putts on the back (13 putts on the frontside). Made par on #4 after hooking one in the bushes, dropping, hitting 6 iron to 6' and making the putt. Almost did the same on #16 lipping out a par chip, then missing a 3 footer, ugh.

Torrey North . . .I shot myself in the foot so many times today I'm up to my knees . . . I never ran out of ammo right to the end. If I didn't hit a bad shot I ended up in the most awkward positions. I parred the first with a good putt and then it was on . . . balls way above my feet, below my feet, divot in the fairway, short sided over and over, rake stopped one on the lip/half sand half grass no stance, down hill bunker lies, buried under an almost vertical lip on 11, tee shot right on 12 ball way above my feet hybrid to 6 feet, miracle birdie (highlight of the round) . . . wind picked up, started to rain and I just smiled it couldn't get much worse so oh well, slog on!

After a small golf hiatus, I am getting back into the swing of things.

Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I was able to get some rounds in.

Thursday I golfed at Antelope Valley Country Club. Not too much wind, but I was starting to hit my driver straighter than ever and that has really boosted my confidence.

Friday afternoon and Saturday morning I golfed with a friend, who is a member at Mission Lakes CC in Desert Hot Springs.

Once again, my driver is fast becoming my best friend with only a few bad shots.
QUOTED  "Nay wind, nay rain, nay golf"

Yeah! Friday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs was super windy. I had a shot off a ridge to a short par 3 and punched a 4-iron on from the tee. Saturday morning's round saw the beginnings of a little rain and slightly less wind.

Good to get back to some golf.

42-45 at Costa Mesa CC. Putting was the main issue. I was burning edges all day

This is a bit different. Had my first match as "Coach" today! Only have 2 players but they were sent out on 2 and 8! How am I supposed to keep track of their game when I am driving back and forth around the course. They played at Silver Lakes a private course in Helendale. Mostly brown but lush greens. The kids struggled but had a great time. They play to a max double par +1 so they picked up more than finished but with a max score of 81 they shot 79 and 77. For the kid that shot 79 it was his first full 9 holes of golf. I saw every level of golf out there today. My kids were not the worst by far. The good thing is I see that 1 has a great long game but no short game. The other is just the opposite. At least I know what we have to work on. Lots of great kids and some really nice coaches made the day fun. Unfortunately it got windy then rained on and off! Not sure where that came from. The round took 3 1/2 hours. Got home after 9 tonight! Hope they don't all run that long but with 12 schools playing it sure gets crazy!

Match 2 under our belts. Cold windy day at Hesperia GC. Have not played here in a while since the conditions had been so bad. Seeing it today made e want to play the course. The greenest course in the desert. Greens were a bit fuzzy, so slower than usual. Overall in good shape. Best conditions I have seen in a while in this part of the desert.
Both kids made improvements. One from 77 to a 70 and the other improved 5 strokes. Considering the cold and wind much better than expected.
