I was playing Woodley Lakes a while back and when approaching the par 3 12th hole - I was thinking "oh, I'm playing the blues - that means the far tee box is possible.". Normally the 12th is a fairly easy hole (always, if you play the whites) 145 yards or so and straight forward but one time they put the blue tees on the far tee box and it's a completely different hole. It morphs into a long iron or more over a reed filled lake that turns it into a blind shot to a less inviting angle to the green. Not at all an easy hole.

Maybe others could share holes they are familiar with where depending on the tee box - the hole plays vastly different.

Good topic. I recall that at Empire Lakes there were several holes with "secret" tee boxes, screened by vegetation, etc. from normal view, off the normal line of play, and thereby presenting some unusual angles to these holes.

And then, at looney tunes Chambers Bay in Seattle, one par-3 has two tees that approach the green separated by 90* on the compass (i.e., from the east vs. the north).

Now that's REALLY a different angle to the green!

Classic Club has at least one, it may be two par 3's with alternate tee boxes for every tee color.

One set you play on a right diagonal across a canyon to the green. The other you would play on a left diagonal across the same canyon. They are probably 75-100 yards apart, but I think they play about the same distances. I love the concept!

The goal is long and straight! But on the many times I cannot seem to hit them straight, I at least want to hit them long!

That one par 3 at the PGA Nicklaus course I remember had a straight shot at the hole from the blues . . . then when we moved over to tee off from the whites we had to clear a bunker?

SunRidge Canyon in Arizona has a par 3 that plays from two totally different angles, separated by about 90°.

Mt. Woodson 12th. I almost always play the blues here @6,400. Most of the time they put the white tees for #12 on the other side of the arroyo. But every once in a while they move them back to the Blues and it is a 215-220 to reach the fairway and completely up hill to the green. Par is a good score. I always feel sorry for anyone playing the whites and drawing that Tee box!
