Hey gang, myself and a few friends are travelling to San Diego area to play golf in a couple weeks. March 30-April 3

We are playing Rancho Santa Fe GC, Goat Hill Park, The Bridges at RSF, Aviara, and San Diego GC.

Looking for conditions updates or if anyone may know if they are aerating or have been recently aerated.

Thanks everyone!

Aviara will be hosting the LPGA Kia Classic March 28-31 so that course will be in prime condition that week. It's definitely y favorite course in the area

To quote Sesame Street... "one of these things is not like the other..."

Three top private clubs. One of the top resort courses. And, well... Goat Hill.

As a die hard fan of the Goat, it definitely stand out in that lineup, but it's probably the most unique experience out of that group, that's for sure!

I will say that if you can plan to be at the Goat Friday afternoon for the Skins game, fire pit, some darts on the patio and some beers, it's a great hang out. And you can even win some cash if you get lucky with a birdie or two. Ace pot is up over a grand and the last Friday of the month there's a starter pot of $250. Always a good time!

Heard the Goat is a tough track. Also hear Charley Hoffman and Schauffele had played a charity there.

I'd like to play it sometime soon.

Goat is a maximum sized mini-golf course. Some brutally small greens. Odd mounding that ricochets your ball all over the place. Strange layout. Don't go there expecting to play golf. If you go there, expect to play go-kart-mini-golf-funky-town golf. I half-expect for kids to be hiding around the course waiting to throw snowballs at you when you try to hit. It's fun as heck...just understand it's not normal golf.

Sorry to start a Goat tangent. Couldn't resist when I saw that course list. To get back to your original inquiry, you are smart to ask about conditions as March and April is when most courses in SD county will aerate their greens. GK doesn't do alert calls for private clubs, so you would be wise to contact SDCC, Bridges and RSFGC directly for information.

Goat Hill usually punches some time in April. Aviara will usually start their maintenance fairly soon after the Kia Classic. The ytypically don't do all their greens at once. They'll do a few at a time and spot aerations as needed throughout the spring and summer months. Given that you'll be there within days of the tournament, I would expect you'll get excellent conditions.

Just asked and Goat Hill doesn't punch until the end of April. You should be good to go there.

And yes, the past two Thanksgiving weekend Saturdays the Wishbone Brawl has been at the Goat. It's a great time!

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but at least there's some good info there
