We should really be able to reply to golf course reviews. Dconnallys review of Tijeras Creek is inaccurate. He came in looking for a random tee time and was immediately accommodated once he realized he can't just storm in and demand a tee time at any particular price. His assumptions were simply wrong and the managers of the course generously gave him a discount.

The coming iPhone app will allow users to comment about reviews. Its likely when the website goes through a major upgrade it will also allow commenting on reviews.

Regarding Dconnally's review being inaccurate, are you Lenny?

* Update 5/17: Based on the insightful posts here voicing their displeasure as well as other reasons regarding the idea that someone could comment on a review, it has certainly changed my mind about considering commenting on reviews for future versions of GK. Thank You.

I disagree. Want to have a discussion? Create a forum post. Reviews are one golfer's interpretation and theirs alone. No one else played the course that day in the reviewer's shoes. No one else experienced the ups and downs of that day's events and no one else should be able to interpret them. Personally I like the fact that no one can comment on a review because no one else can decide what the reviewer felt and experienced that particular day. Lenny - you had a gripe with the review, you posted it here and now we can have a discussion. Just my two cents ...

I agree with Roarksown1 completely. You start having people comment on review it will become a pissing contest and people will stop reviewing

I agree with roarksown1 and Chevelle also. Reviews are reviews and the forums are forums, I think that if we entertwine the two it will get messy and go off course quickly. Knowing that we have those that join with no intention of being a contributor to the community, instead only want to push their agenda, imagine the number of people that would create an account simply to address a percieved slight on their favorite golf course. I'm hoping we won't open up ourselves to 'trolls' in this way. If you have a problem with a review, visit the course and write your own, problem solved...

QUOTED  Its likely when the website goes through a major upgrade it will also allow commenting on reviews.

But if the GK Review Writing Community would prefer no commenting on reviews then that won't be implemented.

@putt4doughorelse I do like that you brought this up in the forum as its a better place than on a actual review. Personally details like rack rate and promotional rates will not deter me from playing your beautiful course. I have to mention that the course is right in the particular case as Dave did not have a tee time booked through Golf-now therefore is not entitled to the special prices that they have been given. Although it never hurts to ask for a price match one should not get angry when they are denied.

Golf-now and teeoff.com are places where the courses can advertise their course and offer special discounts as payment for such advertising. I don't know the analytics on how much they get the tee times for but do know they charge a hefty service charge in order make money. I would say most course gain traffic from these sites but they are also selling valuable tee times at a lower profit margin to what they can get from their own posted rates.

How does a golf course defend itself from an inaccurate review? I have seen several about many different golf courses.
