Took a lesson from GDR23, will be taking more, I'm excited to introduce my buddy Gary's Golf Instruction.

Gary is a great friend and what I found out last week, a heck of a golf instructor.

Gary wants to focus much of his services helping fellow GKers. Gary had been an active member of GK for over 12 years. He's a straight up honest guy that really cares about people and wants to make a difference helping them. Gary is someone you can always contact and goes above and beyond.

He told me he wants to give GKers $20 off his services, be active in our forums posting instruction videos/tips and answer questions.

Gary teaches at the Golf Development Complex in Moorpark CA.

You can message him right here on GK, e-mail him, call him, text him, connect with him on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube...anytime. He will make it a priority to engage with you. I also know Gary is someone that when he makes a promise or commitment he never breaks it and totally dedicates himself to it. You can bet my golf game is going to improve quickly and anyone that takes lessons from Gary is sure to improve.

Contact him to learn more.

Here's a link to his website:

Your welcome Robert. All GKer's are welcome to contact me anytime for a lesson. I also have lessons available for junior golfers and will most likely be conducting some clinics in the future. GKer's get $20.00 off their initial individual 1 hour lesson. I look forward to helping anyone and everyone on their golf journey. Have fun and improve while doing it--that's my motto.

Had a "GK" student lesson last night. We worked specifically on making sure he was rotating his hip in the turn position, transferring his weight to his front foot on his iron swing and letting his arms swing freely through the ball. I will be uploading some more instructional videos soon.

I have probably played more rounds with Gary than any other GKer over the last 18 years since I met him. Here are a few things I know to be true about Gary that affect his capability to provide excellent golf instruction:

1- He is not the Country Club type professional. He relates to the common man because he is one.

2- He is a very talented golfer for someone who was always working a normal 9-5 job outside the golf industry. He was originally self taught and got down to around a scratch golfer based on intuition, trial and error + practice.

3- His golf course management skills are totally in line with his personality. Quiet, reserved and patient.

4- He has a passion for golf and has fun on the course. 99% of the time, I would defy anyone watching from a fairway away to accurately tell whether Gary just made a birdie or a bogey. Same demeanor, same getting ready for the next shot/hole.

When Gary has offered tips to others over the years, there was always a familiar theme... Simple and concise, tailored to the individuals skill level.

Gary does not have a cookie cutter, technically perfect golf swing. Very likely, that applies to almost everyone who seeks golf instruction. A challenge with some golf instructors is that they are trying to totally revamp the swing of a guy who has never broken 90 to look like Tiger Woods. Good luck with that!

I have a couple of good golf buddies who swear by their instructors/swing coaches. Yet they are constantly frustrated with their golf games. My opinion watching and listening to them... they are being instructed to do things that are too advanced for their skill level. And you wonder why many people get frustrated and discontinue with golf... One swing does not fit all... and neither does one single approach. I perceive that Gary gets that more than most golf instructors.

The goal is long and straight! But on the many times I cannot seem to hit them straight, I at least want to hit them long!
