I keep checking to see if anyone has posted something on this years Masters. So since it's the final day, I figured I would post something.

I watched the ceremonial tee shots hit by Jack and Gary with the, very well done tribute to Arnie, and I realized this will not go on for too many more years. I was wondering if they will add a third retired Masters winner to keep the tradition going or if it will end with Jack and Gary. I would think they would want to keep it going but, then the question becomes, who takes Arnie's place ? Anyone bold enough to make a suggestion to fill those shoes ?
I admit I'm not

Faldo? Phil? Maybe Tiger in a few years? Who else can even come close to Jack and Gary?

Palmer et al. were not the first honorary starters, I don't think. Snead and/or Nelson and maybe others started it.

So it's likely they'll try to keep the tradition going. Big shoes to fill, no doubt.

I'm trying to remember - didn't they also institute an age cutoff so some of the much older winners had to give up their guaranteed place for younger players?

I believe they made it more of a "suggestion" about older players not participating in the tournament proper. 9 hole contest is still wide open.

There have been 8 honorary starters : http://www.golfdigest.com/gallery/honorary-starters-at-the-masters

Personally, I would love to see a group of Tiger, Phil, and someone else (Vijay?). The big guns that brought in fans during the beginning of this century would be cool to me as a younger viewer.

Also, hope to see Freddy play here forever.

I always pull for Ricky, but something always seems to fall apart along the way.

[trolling]My call in that Sergio's ball clearly moved in the pine straw fell on deaf ears

Signed

It's over - very satisfying ending. After his tee shot on 13, I thought Sergio was toast! He was swinging terribly! But he really hung in and hit great shots coming in.

There are not enough explicit words I can say about Sergio. I wish him nothing but the worse luck from here on out.
