Was looking for a place to play yesterday and noticed that Champions Club at Retreat was no longer on the Golfnow list.

Ended up playing at Dos Lagos across the I15 from Champions Club in Corona and marshal at that course said some investor
(or perhaps sucker) had paid $4M for the Retreat course. Seems pretty cheap for a Jack and Sons designed course - however, over the years
course has been there it has earned the reputation as the type of course only a guy like Jack or a certified tour pro could play - lots of forced carries off the tees and very small greens often well above the fairways.

Wondering if anybody else in the Corona/Riverside area knows any more about what the plans might be for the Champs Club? Seems like the first requirement to increase playability for average players would be rebuilding of the greens into larger and more receptive targets - also a question as to if another high-priced course could compete in a location where there are 3 decent courses (Dos Lagos, Eagle Glen, Trilogy) all competing for players in a 2-mile radius

Course has been closed for almost 5 months now and no plans have been heard about reopening.
