ALERT: if you are going to play on base you are now required to fill out paperwork online seven days in advance before play. Drove down today and they wouldn’t let us on. New policy as of April.

It's at www.mccscp.com/golf I suggest reupping this the first of every month...it expires after ninety days, theoretically.

Another warning....Security Detachment may still not let you in...use the words "I am SPONSORED by the golf course for a round of golf at ____ tee time." There is a sign that says "Public Golf Course" but new NON-COMS probably don't understand what that means.
Not a guarantee, but at least you stand a chance.

Dconnally suggested I move this to the general forums section for more visibility. He is right.

Check out my review of 4/30, it's worth the effort to get base access, the course is in great condition!
They basically want your name and drivers license number. I left the web site link on the 4/30 post.

Are they going to require one of the new real ID licenses in 2020?

Are they going to require one of the new Real ID Licenses in 2020?

Well, if the new law...which goes into effect October 1, 2020...clearly states that a Real ID License will be required in order to board a domestic airline flight and/or gain access to a secure military facility, then I'd say it's a safe bet the answer to your question is YES.

MORE, NEW CHANGES ON CIVILIAN ACCESS TO MARINE MEMORIAL... (And it's bad news for those with M-F jobs)

I noticed recently on their website that they're getting more restrictive, and I just confirmed with a phone call to the pro shop.

I was told if you submitted an online request prior to July 23, you will still have base access until September 30.

For those who haven't recently requested access through the online link, and even for those who have after their access expires, you now need to go to the Main Gate Visitor's Center to obtain a visitor's pass. The huge bummer (for me anyway) is that the Visitor's Center is only open Monday-Friday (from 7:30-3:30), so playing on a weekend would require a separate visit during the week... when I work every weekday.

Here's what their website says, some of which I mentioned above:

• DBIDS visitor credentials will ONLY be processed at the Visitor Center off the Main Gate, Bldg 20255T

• Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm

• If your reservation for One-Time access is before 8:00am or on the weekend plan to go to the Visitors Center before the day of your reserved activity to avoid delays or access issues.

• For Long-Term Base Access requests please allow 5 business days for processing before going to the Visitors Center.
