I played here last Thursday; the going rate for resort guests is $150 for 18 holes. I played the Kings and Lakes nines, first out at 7:00 a.m. POP was about 3 hours. The course is in pretty good condition from tee to green. No bare areas were seen. Sand looked decent and groomed. Greens ran faster than the ones at Makani. There is a nice practice area: all grass range and a small chipping green with a bunker.

There is a replay rate at $69, but I was not able to take advantage of it due to my back got a spasm on the second hole and did not get much better as the round progressed. It is nice to be out first thing in the morning at this course because there are a lot of golfers who look like they have never played golf before. I think it is weird, but it's their money.

Played today no wind and the course is in great shape and shot 83 from the whites. Nice layout with a lot of different holes. If you are here on the Kona side it's worth a play.

Played Mon 6/12, 7am, walked on as single, played as 2some. Got a $95 rate through the Hilton. This is a great layout that could be a great course, but seems in disrepair. It's billed as a resort course (and should be), but it is in worse than muni shape: the majority of the fairways look neglected. It doesn't really affect the play, and the price seems reflective of the conditions. The rack rate is $150ish, and it's not worth that. I paid $95 and then a $55 replay for the Beach course (of which I used Hilton dollars, so a $50/rd net for me, which is about right). We were first out, so pace of play not an issue.

This course is more inland, with distant views of the ocean. Lava rock features throughout the course. Greens true, but on the slower side (fast 9). Wind moderate. Enjoyed the course, as it is very interesting, and again the layout is very good. I think the Beach is a better layout, with better views, but in worse shape than the Kings. I stayed on the resort, but for $100/rd, was not willing to play here more than once. Rather pay more for other nicer courses. Come early or deal with 5 hr rds.
