This is the only course I was able to play in Maui, so I do lack a point of comparison. My playing partners though really enjoyed this course, in comparison to other courses on the island. This was one of the best values in Maui, especially since one member of my foursome was able to take advantage of the $55 birthday special. The course is not on the water, but it has great views of Maalaea Bay on the south side of the island and Kahului Bay on the north side. It was raining the day I played, so it was difficult to read the speed of the greens. Almost all putts broke away from the mountain. The fairways were in great condition. I was in a number of sand traps, and they were in very good condition as well. Some of the tee boxes were uneven. I have read that this course is very challenging when the wind is blowing, but we did not have any problems with the wind that day. I will be back here the next time I am in Maui. Kahili did offer plenty of challenges to make the round fun, along with some great sights.
