I will add that the greens are slow, but it is probably due to the course being so difficult. For those here in the mainland US, this course is one of a kind in respect to the surroundings. It is as if playing at Jurassic Park.

If you’re ever in Oahu, check out Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. Some have said it’s the little sister course to the old Koolau (closed down). A lot of breath taking views. Target golf. It pays to play with someone that knows the layout. Some blind shots. A lot of elevation changes so make sure you bring your Range Finder with Slope! Thick air so beware of clubbing up.

Played this morning for the first time. Got out as a twosome by ourselves which was great. The course has phenomenal land and a front nine that has a layout and scenery that rivals any course I’ve ever played. The back nine has some solid holes but the finishing holes were a little lackluster compared to the front nine. The course punched their greens recently and are still recovering so didn’t get a good feel of how the greens normally play, in another 3 weeks they should be good. The fairways have good coverage, a little thin in places. Rough is long and lush is most places. I’d highly highly recommend coming out and playing this course if you’re on vacation and looking for a great course for around 150-180. Local rates are a steal at 45-65.

Played 12/3 and this is a NICE course. Yes I missed the turn to the course but no big deal. Walked up and got right out, passed a two ball about the forth hole and never saw anyone after that until 18. The course was a little wet but they have had rain all week (but none today). Great layout with a lot of fun holes, some water and some forced carries and a great drive through a small rain forest. More then worth the drive from Honolulu.

Getting here is little tricky as you will need to use the side road that looks like someone's drive way. As I pulled in, you can see the grand par 3 with mini cliffs so I knew this course was gonna be tough. Course is rather short but it makes it up with its slope. This is very tough course. If you miss your drives and approach shot, its a lost ball. 2nd hole was very challenging and our entire 4 some all had double bogey or worse. This course has beautiful mountain drop and is picturesque scenery at every turn. Driving range is off the matt so that was little bummer. There was practically no one at the course and we hardly so anyone during our entire round until 18th hole. Elevation changes and uneven lies at every turn so if you aren't used to that, bring lots of golf ball as you will need it. I really enjoyed this course and its beauty. Only fault I found with the course is that their greens are really hard and there is only thin layer of grass on the top so its rather sandy and not very attracticve looking. Not sure how they can fix it though since its sitting on the side of the mountain range. We saw wild pigs and surrounding makes you feel like you're playing golf in the movie Avatar. Will post some photos in next few days. If you have decent ball striking and want to play somewhere that has great mountain view, this is your place.
