This course used to be a great value till they raised the greens fees this year by about 12 dollars to 36 dollars weekdays. The really great thing about this course is that the greens always put great. They are very smooth and you won't see your ball doing any dances on it's way to to the cup.

The fairways could be better but I'd say they are average with a tendency to get dry and hard as you get to the sides of them. The course is a good variation of hilly and flat and the holes are all unique.

I'd call the 16th hole the signature hole because it is a par five that starts off on a mountain and you hit down to the hole. It narrows about 260 yards down the hill and widens again beyond the trees. There's not a lot of trouble on this hole but the tendency is to swing hard because it looks open. The odd thing about this hole is there is a choice of two greens at the end of the hole. If you play straight to the green it's a stroke of two easier than the elevated green to the right.

Always fun, IVGC is lush and green in the brown hills of Novato. Good watering and maintenance (except for the Tee boxes) allows the course to present well. Challenging layout, lots of elevation changes, greens bumpy, a bit slow, and soft. Pace was fine, good marshall attention, without drinks cart for a Friday afternoon. From 3p.m. only $22 walking. Good bar at clubhouse.
Worth a look for sure.

Wow! One of the best conditioned muni's I've played. It's a short, but very interesting old style golf cours-the 18th is U-shaped journey, two of the short 3pars are completely blind from the back tees. The serenity of course is amazing. Resort quality views on many holes, and not a house in sight. The greens were great--fast and undulating! 3 putts or worse await you.

Played Indian Valley on Sunday April 6, 2008 with brother step-father and other family members - 2 4somes. Needed to rent clubs. Rentals were a top quality set of Cobra's. The course, except for the tee boxes was in immaculate condition - as good as most private country clubs. The setting could not be more beautiful. Mountains, trees, horse ranches, wild turkeys and deer stroll through the course. Every hole is different. Most holes have substantial elevation changes. The course is a fair test for most levels of players. Greens fees are very reasonable $74 with a cart on a weekend. I look forward to playing Indian Hills again.

Had not played course for about a year and a half. They have done some great improvments to the course. Greens are some of the best I have ever played! The 9th hole has been remodeled so it can be play in the winter. The old 9th fairway was low and would always hold water and the old 9th green was a joke! You needed a drink between nines to forget you just four putted the old 9th green. Our group played in 4 1/2 hours on a Saturday. The price to play this public course was $50.00 with a cart at 11:00. Some of the Tees need to be leveled. When we are in Marin or on our way to the wine country we will be sure to play Indian Valley.

Great military discount during the week, (M-T), none on the weekend. Played 4 hr round without rushing, on a Monday. I haven't played on the weekend. Overall course was in great condition and I had a good time.

rundown of of a ruined sunday... Hey want to play golf sunday??? Sure where at??? Indian valley??? Where is it ,how much, did you call first and make sure the place is ok ?? Its in novato 54 dollars..yes they said the course was in good condition..Great ill be there..
par 5 First Hole appeared to be ok... got to the uphill green in 3 .... 3 putted on a sanded green..
The score card read 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,19 for the front and 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 on the back ...have no idea what or where the 4 hole went but it eliminated posting my score, other holes had major work being done around the greens and you were lucky to find your approach shot if it went in the fresh dirt
After the round I went into the pro shop to seek a possible partial refund or at least comp'd for another round when conditions improved for there lack of telling us the true course condition but we were told rather rudely "sorry bout that"

Well They should be sorry because we never go back after this and I'm satisfied with leaving this hoping others will avoid this place all together..

Played the course on a nice sunny day. The course was well maintained. Most if not all the tee boxes need to be leveled. They are uneven and quite a few have crowns. The course is narrow and not very challenging. The practice range is in very poor condition and really not worth warming up onhitting on unless you like hit your shots uphill.

Course does not drain well, and thus does not play well after a rain. Drainage needs to be improved more than it has. some of the Tee boxes really need to be leveled to remove the, in some cases, severe crowns.
