sept 11,
played the pm and the pace was really good, as there was few out there due to the warm weather I think. the course is still in great shape a bit bumpy on the greens but way better than others around. the grass is still really green and lush. the greens are due to be punched and sanded soon so check with them late sept... this course does have the pacesetter program on sat sun and selected days, where you sign up for free and agree to play ready golf, and pick up if you fall behind. the early groups are finishing under 3hrs and under 4hrs for the later groups... not bad. the practice area is still one of my favorites...

Wide open course so hitting left or right won't hurt you. Free replays makes this a great deal.

the condition is dead flat. greens are bumpy and slow (with lots of foot prints). fairway has many bare spots. rough is thin. the most terrible part is the pace and the ignorant golfers who think they own the course and can play through whenever they like. i once met two teenagers who just cut in between groups and hit tee shots (I've never see a marshal and I complained to the pro shop and they did nothing). It's not surprising arriving a tee with 2-3 groups waiting to tee off and everybody is slicing his tee shot 150 yards and still wait the par 5 green to clear to try to reach in two! 5 hour is minimum (that's actually a "fast" round).

played the twilight special which is a great deal.. the course over all is in really good condition seeing as we have had a few weeks off high temp. one thing that was annoying was the greens seemed a little too thick and soft and were bumpy. had my 1st three putts hopping all over the place, but other than that I hadn't played here in awhile and had forgotten what a nice layout it is.. we played the gold tees, and let me tell you they will add some yardage to your round..lol the staff there is really great and they now have the segway people movers. it has a bag cradle and looked really cool. I want to say its 25.00 a round for one. the range there is really good and the practice area has sand area with a huge chipping area and allows shag bags too. the pace of play was not bad, and well worth the money. be sure to call ahead as they have tourneys and high school teams that play there so the twilight at times is hard to get into.. other than that it was great.

Course itself is relatively bland. A walker's course as it is very very flat. It's in good shape this year, conditions are good. The thing that keeps me coming back, however, is the staff. They are quite simply, awesome.

A fun favorite for apparently everyone. Has multiple sets of tees including beginner tees which, for example, make the opening par 5 under 400 yards. A good relatively flat track with some water but not too much and some traps. Greens are pretty easy, alot of 1 and two putts. The only problem: PACE OF PLAY! They JAM this place up on weekends. You'll see 10 groups waiting to tee off on a Saturday, and it takes sometimes 6 hours to play this course. My observation is that there are so many beginners here, and they take 7 practice swings only to hit the ball 5 yards right. After 10 shots they havent reached the 150 yard mark yet. I would think after that it'd be time to pick up and go to the next tee and let me play through. Also, after watching Tiger on TV, they have to line up a 6 inch putt, even though its for a 15. I am a relative beginner but COME ON. The marshalls need to shoo these people along. Tons of Asians as this is San Jose. Dont come on a weekend. On the other hand have played here on a weekday and 4 1/2 hours into it am done.

Just recently played and was quite impressed with the layout. Great wide fairways, greens were challenging, and even though it was a little wet, can't wait to play it again in the summer. Was told that once you play a round you are able to play more holes for free. Not a bad deal at all

Slow and bumpy greens. I can't believe they charge $25 per cart during normal hours. Thankfully I am not a regular up there.
