Played this ball recently, I found no difference between this ball and the D-2 I've been playing other than the scuffing, D-2 was much more durable.

Excellent Ball - But Scuffs
Wednesday April 8, 2009
I've been playing the HX Hot Bite almost exclusively since the first box of Greenskeeper.org logo balls arrived at my door 2 months ago. It's a tremendous golf ball for the price as others have attested here. Love it. Long, bites, nice spin control for wedges and chips. It does have a bit of a hard feel when putting compared to the ProV1 but personally, I like that. The one negative with the ball is it scuffs. Not to the point of damaging the ball where it will affect it's flight, but the scuffs will certianly blemish the good looks of it (hate it when I scuff the GK logo! - LOL). Anyway, I completely recommend this ball.

Keeps it in the fairway

I had a bad slice my last 2 rounds, then used these balls at a GK outing. Maybe a fade, but never sliced. Ball is durable, as it hadly showed signs of wear and tear during the round. Felt good off the putter. I didn't see any bite on mine, but then again, I was using it at Rustic Canyon where everything rolls off the back of the greens.

Callaway HX Hot Bite Golf Balls
Wednesday May 28, 2008
Probably my favorite of the Callaway balls, I like the feel with all clubs, especially for chipping and putting. Seems more durable than some of the other Callaway balls, I feel like this ball is a better value than most out there.

excellent all around ball

received a free sleeve of these at an event. so i tried them out and played my best round ever. the ball is very soft and scuffs a little easier than most, but overall it is great for distance and feel. it is the only ball than i play now and it is the best ball you can get for $30 or less.

Good overall ball

Based on a couple other reviews, and the fact that I like Callaways, I purchased a dozen of these to try out. Overall, I liked the ball. It did produce some good distance. I've played the HX Hot previously and it compares very favorably to them. I liked the feel off my irons. It was true off the driver and putted very well. The only problem I had with the ball was that it scuffed pretty easily. Playing on mostly desert courses in the Tucson area, the fact that it scuffed a lot easier than the HX Hot will probably limit my usage.

Long ball & seemed to check up well
Sunday February 17, 2008
I read an article about how most golfers don't play the right ball for their game. For my game this ball came up as one I should try. I did, & I like the result although I dont think there is a huge difference between most balls in the way they travel off your club. This one did seem to get me good distance off the driver & definitly longer off my short irons. It seemed to "bite" well on the greens & I'm going to stick with it for now.

Better Than The HX Hot
Thursday February 14, 2008
Definitely better than the HX Hot. Seemed to give me very good distance and flew pretty straight. Probably similar to, and not better than, the Srixon Trispeed or Bridgestone e6+. Heck it wasn't much longer than the Callaway Big Bertha. It did have some "bite" on the green. Better than the Big Bertha, but again, not better than the Trispeed or e6+. Finally it seemed to scuff pretty easily. Overall a good ball but there are other 3-piece balls out there that are cheaper and will give you everything this does, and maybe more. Distance it has, but nowhere significant enough over any other ball to put this on top in the list. It putts nice, but again, not any better than other, cheaper 3-piece balls.

terrific everywhere, but no spin...
Tuesday February 12, 2008
I read the reviews here, bought a doz at Target $30, funny I was at Roger Dunn Santa Ana Superstore, they did not have these. They usuall have EVERYTHING,,, I got excited as they are smooooth on the putting green, they come off the putter like butter. Off the driver they are like Freaking Top Flights, but softer, and Loooong. Irons were also longer. But,,, they do not hold greens as well as Pro v's or HX or Nike One. If I was playing soft greens all the time these are terrific. But if ya need a little spin and hold on normal greens these are a bit long. A very good ball for the $$$. Target?? whats up with that????

Sweet Ball... Does whatever you want.

You get great distance off the tee box with the driver and long irons. When you need spin it is unbelievable. It rolls true and you can put really well with it. I'm surprised it wasn't more expensive. I would put up there with the Pro V1 and Nike One Platinum

A real surprise
Wednesday February 6, 2008
I bought the Hot Bite because I couldn't find the Wilson zip which I really enjoyed. The Bite seemed similar. Actually, the Bite drove longer than any ball I've played, including the Pro V 1, which I usually play, the Nike supersoft, the Zip, Srixon etc. I was very surprised. Off the irons it was also longer. On a par 3 where I usually hit 6 or 7 iron, I hit 7 and went to the back of the green. This ball putt just fine, and chipped like a three piece ball should. I'm 67, drive 230 and hit my 8 140. I would recommend this ball to anyone playing a more expensive 3 piece ball. I paid $29.95 at Target.
