Played yesterday 06/25. My first time playing this course. Heard quite a bit about this course. Went there with some expectations... I liked it. Will definitely come back. There are many change of elevations. Quite a bit of driving the winding cart paths. From the black tee, this course is ~6900yds. Looks very difficult. We played at gold tee which is ~6290 yds. Wish they make the gold tee bit longer would be nice. Fairways are in great shape. There is no OB on this course, only lateral hazards. Greens are in good shape. We still saw some sands on some of the greens. They must aerated not too long ago. Still greens are good. Speed is about normal but will definitely be fast once the greens are fully healed. Bunkers are Bad. Most of the bunkers I went in had no sands. We also didn't like the GPS on our carts. Yardages are very unreliable on both of our carts. Only they have too many advertistments or notes on them. Had to constantly press keys to see the GPS views. Just let us play golf and stop the ad! Customer sevices were great. Once you know the course layout, it wouldn't be difficult course to play. We will definitely come back. Twilight rate of $29 starting from 2:00pm is great rate. Hope I could play one more time before the summer.

Played Sat 06/13. This is my second time playing this course. It's been more than 3 years since I played this course. Don't remember the layout at all. I knew that this course is bit shorter than normal course, 6000yds from the blue tee. Normally I can't get tee times from this course cause they are always full. Our group choose to walk since we expected slow round but surprisingly it wasn't crowded at all. This is great course to walk. Fairways are in good shape. Didn't see many bare spots. Roughs are not too difficult to get out. Greens are great. They are faster than you expected. They do roll well. Bunkers are good too. I liked their placement of the bunkers around the greens. This course is not a difficult course and give you some scores. Some of the par 5s are reachable in two. This course might brings up your self esteem and give you the confident back. Like the course layout too. Enough ups & downs but don't kill your legs. All of us enjoyed the round. Only negative feelings we got was with staffs...unfriendly or don't car.
Can't have it all :-P Good course. Will come back again.

Played Sat 05/09. First of all, I want to thank our GK member "thingstodo" for his playing tips for this course. I always have bad rounds on this course but for the first time I was able to break 90 on this course. Thingstodo's playing tips were very helpful.
This course is about 6100~6200 yds but has tough putting greens due to mountain breaks. If you are putting towards the mountains, you better putt really harder. Putting away from the mountains, watch the speed. It does break away from the mountains. Both tee box areas and fairways were OK. Greens were bit thick, like walking on a thick carpet. They need to cut the greens and roll them up. Once they do that, putting will be lot harder. Bunkers were in decent shape. Their cart paths are very bad... I try not to use them. Customer services are OK. Forget about their snack shop... bad food. Overall this course is OK, just not one of my favorite course.

Played Sat 04/04. Fairways are in decent shape. Don't miss the fairways, the roughs are lush ~ 1 to 3 inches. Bunkers are OK. Greens are very nice compare to fairways & bunkers. Speed is about normal to slow on certain greens. Not too many ball marks. Pace was 4~4 1/2 hours. Customer services are just OK. More to the rude side. Give them GK rating 4 on customer services but the overall course I give 5.5
This course has few water hazards and few par 4 holes. If you have long tee shots, you will do fine on this course.

Played Sat 03/14 am. This is a decent course except very crowded. You don't want to walk in and on the waiting list. Longest wait time for me was 5 hours.
Fairways and roughs are OK. Greens are lot better than I expected. Fast on many greens. On back nine, pin placement was a killer. You are lucky if you 2 putts. We had many 3 putts. Pace is normally slow 5+hours. Better walk than ride. Bunkers are OK. Overall condition of the course is very good. (Cost Saving Tip: buy a large soft drink as you start the round, you can get refill for just a $1 at the snack shop then get another refill after the round)

Played 02/21 Sat. This course does have interesting layout. Hole 1 is handi 1 with OB to the right and uphill green. Careful with your first tee shot, don't want to start with OB. Course has many up/down hills. All the par 3s are reachable. Greens are OK. Bumpy on certain holes. Bunkers are OK. I don't mind playing this course if the pace improve. Took our group almost 3.5 hours to play the front nine. I almost want to quit after the front nine. Back nine improve a bit. Took us ~6hours to play the round. Call the pro-shop, but told us they can't do nothing.

Played the Vineyard in the morning 02/19 Thur. Had lunch before playing Victoria Lake course. Do not order chili-dog. Chile is dry ground meats. Staffs are very nice.
Back to the course, wind die down quite a bit which help us a great deal. Fairways are just OK. Similar to other muni courses. Do have problems with the Greens... they were not smooth as Vineyard course. At times very bumpy. Speed is OK. This course has more water hazards than Vineyard. "Amen" corner #12/#13 very interesting holes. Definitely want to play those holes again. Layout is lot more interesting and challenging than Vineyard. It also has few very nice views. Customer services is great. Very friendly and courteous. Definitely will go back but we will play Victoria Lake first.

I heard a lot about good reviews on this course. This course has two 18 holes, Vinyard & Victoria Lake courses. With couple of my buddies, we took a day off and went up to play. It was very windy day. I really have tough time during windy days. Had a very bad round... Anyhow, fairways are so so. Similar to other muni courses. May be because I had a high expection on this course, front nine layout is just OK. Bit boring. However back nine layout got more interesting. Greens are very nice. Firm and roll very nicely. Read the breaks very carefully. All of us had a very tough time reading the breaks. It breaks Wrong direction! Don't know why... may be due to the wind??? Bunkers are decent shape. Signature hole #18, par 3 island hole. I contributed two new balls on this hole. 190 ~200 yards with wind factor makes this hole very challenging. With President's Day special rate, we only paid $31 with cart which is great deal! It's a good course. Definitely will go back again. Check out the Victoria Lake course...

Played Sat 02/07. Forecasted rain & thunder but we went out. Trusting God that He is a Golfer. There was almost nobody when we got to the course around 8:00am. We were able to tee off immediately. Few drops of rain for couple of holes... and it got cleared. We actually replayed another round since the weather was so nice. We were all thankful...
Due to the recent rain, many of the fairways had flooded areas. If you keep your shots to the center of the fairways then you will be fine. Some bare spots. Greens are bit bumpy and slow. I guess they didn't cut the grass due to the rain. Many bunkers are filled with water. Even on a good days, I think the bunkers are bit thin and hard. Need more sands. Roughs are OK. Not many OB areas. I consider this course flat and long. If you are a long hitter, this will be pretty simple course. All the par 3 holes are at least 170yds from the Blue tees. Overall this is OK course. Nothing special...

Played Sun 01/25 with email special. I do like both South & North courses but the green fees are bit high to play here regularly. Fairways are in great shape. Found few wet areas. Greens are good with couple of holes bit bumpy. Speeds are medium to fast. Difficult down hill putts. Try to avoid down hill putts. Better short than long on most of the greens. This course is pretty much wide open. Do have many bunkers guarding the fairways and the greens. Hole #16 has the signature Bristish pot bunkers protecting the green. You have to go into this particular bunker and try your bunker shots. It's fun! I would consider this course hilly course. Tee boxes are so so. Few of them were very wet and muddy due to the rain. Need more sands in the bunkers. Were very thin on all the bunkers I went in. Overall great course to play. Staffs are good. Love the foods in the club house.

Played Sunday 01/18. This is not my favorite course. Course is OK but I always have very bad round on this course. This is a mountain course similar to Roosevelt Golf (nine hole) course in LA. There is some tranquility... see many deers. Overall condition on the course is little below the average. There is almost no paved cart paths but dirt roads. Fairways are whatever... You need to know the layout of each holes or your perfect drive will roll right or left under the trees. Some of the fairways are inclined to right or left. 1st tee, aim little left, fairway is inclined to the right.
Greens are bumpy and bit hard to putt. Always better below the hole. Down hill putts are very hard. Hard to read the mountain breaks. For us, it always break to the right on most of the holes. Many blind tee shots. You really need to know the layout. If you are the first time playing here, don't bet with other local players. They will have big advantage on you. Bunkers are OK. This is pretty short couse, less than 6200yds. Staffs are nice. Cart lady so so. Club house food, thumbs down. I had a bad front nine but did OK on back nine. Course is on a good location. If they upgraded this course, they would see increase in golfers. This could be very nice private course if they invest. Anyhow, I give only 4.25 GK rating on this course. I still might go back this weekend just to conquer this course. Hate the feeling that it conquered me.

Played Sat 1/10. Bit crowded this Saturday. First of all, customer service here is great. Staffs in the pro-shop are always friendly and very nice. Especially David, who always welcome you and very polite. Doesn't BS but always tell you as it is. Marshalls are also very courteous and friendly. You will see them several times during the round. Brings you ice water during the summer time. Good staffs!
Fairways are in decent shape. Do see bare spots. I don't remember seeing wet areas. Overall, fairways are good. Greens are also in decent shape. Bumpy on certain greens. Bunkers are just OK. This course is flat and long. Wild open fairways. Several dogleg holes. If you have good long drive from the tees, you will do great on this course. Pace is around 5hours. They do allow five somes.
