Played in March. Very challenging desert course north of Tucson. Part of huge development that stopped building during recession, cleared lots on many holes. Great views with out houses. Very good layout with great variety of holes, worth the trip. And yes, it is windy. It's between Catalina and Dove Mountains, the wind is channeled between them.

Played this March. Resort type course in excellent shape. Desert course with houses that are not obvious. Very deceiving holes, not always clear if uphill or down. Go to back tee on famous short par 3, great view. Had always heard a lot about this course. Was a little disappointed, guess I expected too much. Still, one of the best courses in Tucson.

Played last winter. Amazing golf course at base of old volcano rim. Every one talks about how hard it is but the fairways and rough are wide from side to side. It's the forced carries that get you, though some have been removed. The rough was mostly native grasses with wide leaves but played ok. Course was in very good shape but always damp in winter, overcast and some rain most days. Always some mud on ball in fairways. Some courses will always stay with you, this is one of them. A must play, far better than Turtle Bay. Club house is now a church, don't be surprised if parking lot full. Doesn't seem to get a lot of play, probably too hard for most, hope it stays open.

Played here last winter. I really enjoyed this course, only Ko'olau was better on Oahu. The front nine is longer and more open. The back nine is more target golf, both have a lot of elevation change. The big attraction for this course is the tall thick jungle between 10 and 11 and then back between 17 and 18. There is an extra hole, 11a. A short par 3 over water. They were using it because 9 was being redone. Course was in great shape, not much play. It had just changed hands and the club house was closed. Not far from Ko'olau. I want to mention the golf course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Its Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course and has the best ocean holes in Hawaii. The rest of the course is typical muni. You have to call the club house and ask to be sponsored to get on the base. You will have to play at off times like weekday afternoons. You will also have to go early to check in at the entrance, takes about half an hour. A lot to go through, but worth it.

Played Sept 15. Play here several times a year, convenient for business in valley. Course in good shape, has been worse. Like playing here when hot, much cooler with all the trees. Rates in winter very reasonable for area. Excellent service. Think it deserves better than a 5 rating.

Played Sept 16. Second time playing here. Saw there are a few homes now. Thankfully they didn't scrape the dessert for development. Really nice layout with terrific views. For the price, probably the best value in the area. The other reviews are very accurate except the greens held ok this time, conditions change I guess. Would add that there is a paved road from Fountain Hills through Rio Verde to course. Would make travel from east valley easier.

Played June 2. Have played here several times over the years. I mostly like the layout and condition has been good. But the last two times here we have been harassed by the ranger. We were playing with a resident of the development who said this happens all the time now that the course is trying to be private. The ranger kept following us and telling us over and over to let some members behind us play through when they catch up. The ranger left at noon, end of shift. The members never caught up. So play here after noon, or better yet play Red Mountain across the street, a much better course.

Played Jan 2012. Previous review was right on. Played on a Sunday, waited on every shot. Very popular course with the locals. Suggest you play on week days. Very close to ocean but can't see it. If early tee time, stop for Loco Moco on way to course at local drive-ins. We stayed on this part of the island, Kailua, away from the madness of Waikiki. Best beaches on island. No hotels, but many house and studio rentals near beach. Also, best courses on island.

Played Jan 2012. Course has 3 nines. We played A and B nines, real original names. Course owned by Prince hotel in Honolulu, far away from course. Bought recently, may have plans to upgrade course. Another course on Ewa plain, dry area, no houses on course. Fairways in decent shape with some bare spots, some rough in places. Greens slowest we played in Oahu, but not real slow. A nine not very interesting, B nine was much better, C nine looked better too. Would not play here again unless they make major changes. Too many great courses on the island, why play here.

Played Jan 2012. Good subdivision course on Ewa plain west of Honolulu. Area is dry part of island, many courses in area that would be where to play when storms are soaking rest of island. Liked the layout of course. Condition was decent, fairways thin in places, rough inconsistent. Greens in good condition, fairly fast. Mostly flat with some elevation change.

Played Nov 24. Wanted to play a quick round before Thanksgiving with the relatives. Nice course in good shape all around. A little to short with very few par 4s. Ends with 2 short par 3s, disappointing. The sister course, Sunland Village is not too far away and a better lay out.

Played Nov 27. Hadn't played here in a very long time. All I remembered was an average housing development course with a few good holes on the back 9. The front nine winds around the adobe course with houses down both sides. It is very flat with some nice holes. The back nine was much better than I remembered. Most of the holes are very good. You come out of the houses for several holes and have some very nice views. Must play 15 from back tees. Very elevated par 3 that plays about 160. The course had come out of over seeding a few weeks before, fairways and rough were good. The greens were bad, should have been better after almost a month. Not a good sign for this winter. Both the Biltmore courses are very popular and busy.
