Indian Canyons South is be closing in a week to overseed for the winter but playing conditions were still very good. I played as a single and was paired with the slowest 3some on the course. I guess it was good practice for my mental game.

Anyway, Indian Canyons is a beautiful course that is almost always in good shape and it is also easy, with wide fairways, not much trouble off the tee, and big greens.

It is a bit expensive during season so I will probably be back next summer to play again!

Indian Springs is in excellent condition for this time of year (late September). You can score here because the course isn't long and the fairways are generally wide with little danger off the tee. And the rough is almost non-existent so there is no penalty for a shot that misses the fairway. However, greens are smaller than some desert courses and some are well guarded by water.

Layout is a little quirky and you have to cross busy intersections a couple of times but I did enjoy this course. Although the golf course is lined with homes there are some great views on many of the holes.

Indian Springs is a fun course that mid/high handicaps will enjoy...

Classic Club is a challenging beast but it is also beautiful and fun to play. Most of the fairways have generous landing areas but the greens are challenging and there is water everywhere; especially on your approach shots to the greens. Practice facilites are second to none with new NXT Tour range balls.

They have outstanding rates for Coachella Valley residents (locals can purchase a resident card for $30) so I will be playing this track regularly...and it is only 10 miles from home.

Played for next to nothing because greens were recently aerated and groundskeepers were working repairing patches of fairway.

Customer service is top notch and they give you a $15 voucher for food and beverage. Also included is divot repair tool, yardage book, towel, and free bottled water.

Pick the correct tees (the Whites are a tough 6500 yds) and enjoy one of the best tracks in the Palm Springs area.

Desert Dunes is in great shape tee to green for this time of year!
The layout is excellent (Robert Trent Jones Jr design) and one of my favorites in the Palm Springs area for the price.

One word of caution...this course can get VERY WINDY, so check the weather report and get out early before the heat if the forecast is for a calm day.

Played the champions course for the first time with a foursome. It was busy but check in went smoothly and range balls were included with the green fee. The practice facilities are top notch.

Starter was pleasant and got us out 15 minutes early. This track is very challenging; especially the back nine, but I liked the variety in the design. A few short risk/reward holes, lots of elevation changes, and greens are usually well protected by traps and/or water. With the exception of a couple of short par 3's, this track makes you think on every shot and can be punishing.

The course was overall in good shape BUT the greens were painfully SLOWWWWW. I don't know if this is the norm or if they are prepping for aeration but this would be a deal killer if they are always this slow.

With the exception of the slow greens, everything else was great and my 4some had a good time. The cart girl came around 4-5 times and we had a good lunch in the clubhouse...they even have a few good beers on draft!

Payed $30 through golf now for a Saturday round at 11am which is a steal for this course. Even though summer is officially here, Indian Canyons South is in excellent shape. It's a beautiful course that doesn't beat you up. I highly recommend this track for anyone visiting our Coachella Valley.

Strong layout in a beautiful setting, no wind, and outstanding customer service!

Desert Dunes is in great shape from tee to green. I payed $25 w/ a players card on a Friday morning. Great layout, lots of wildlife, and no wind today!

Very good bang for the buck as long as the wind isn't blowing.

Played Friday morning midday and course was busy. Pace of play slow for the first 9 but the back 9 pace was perfect. Fun par 70 with a very interesting layout...lots of variety with elevation changes, doglegs, water hazards, a few short par 4's and a monster 451 yd par for (hole #9). I really liked the layout at Indian Hills; I used every club in my bag and course management is key here.

Fairways, rough, and tee boxes very thin in some areas but greens were pretty good. The conditioning isn't what I'm used to seeing the Coachella Valley but the good layout and reasonable price make it worth playing again.

Desert Dunes has recently reopened after overseeding with rye grass. Course is a beautiful emerald green but fairways are still thin in some areas and greens are a bit slow which is to be expected. Overall, Desert Dunes is in excellent shape as it is getting ready to host a Canandian Tour event the first week of November.

This course is already challenging but they have let the rough grow out to 5+ inches in some areas...probably to prepare for the pros. Thank goodness the tees were moved up a bit to counter the thick rough and soft conditions...I got very little roll on my tee shots. Sand traps were the best condition i've seen at Desert Dunes.

Customer service was outstanding from check in to the new cart girl. Highly recommend this course if the wind is blowing...and it wasn't blowing at all today.

Played Cimarron Saturday morning (10/9/10). They just reopened yesterday after overseeding with rye grass and the course is cart path only.

Greens are ok but are very slow which is to be expected. Fairways and rough are very thin and will take a few weeks to fill in completely.

Management has made some improvements by adding GPS to the carts and the driving range is nice with new balls. Some management decisions are strange such as adding a pump to the water igloos which make it difficult to wet towel or get a cup of water. I'm all for water conservation but this is over the top. Takes about 20 pumps to fill up a small cup..WTF.

Pace of play was good and I enjoyed my round but Cimarron will need a few more weeks before the rye overseed is complete...and the water igloo hand pumps is a strange call. Pack in bottled water to avoid DEHYDRATION!

Played Desert Princess Saturday morning for $30 which included lunch (cheeseburger and fries). This is an outstanding deal that I take advantage of during the summer months.

Desert Princess will be closing down for overseeding next week but was amazed at the condition of the course for this time of the year. Greens were exceptional...firm and very fast with harding any damage. The fairways/rough were dry because they are preparing to scalp but still very playable.

Still very hot for this time of year (high of 110F) with almost no wind but I always enjoy my round Desert Princess and today was no exception.

Paid $25 to play the Resort Course early Saturday morning with Desert Resident Card. Included 2 free draft beers...what a deal! For this time of year this track is in excellent condition. Fairways and Greens are in great shape and I always enjoy the layout of the Resort course. My only gripes are that some of the tee boxes aren't level and that the traps are hard dirt/sand and tough to escape from. All of the staff were friendly...Starter Lady was friendly, the cartgirl had nice legs and the cart guy did a good job on my clubs. AND the draft beer was COLD! I recommend the Resort course over the Legend course...pay the extra $ and play the better of the 2 tracks.
