Between tee box and greens, this course is under disarray. Have always enjoyed its layout, but now its like playing on the moon, having more exposed bare sandy soil areas than something maybe called grass. They blame the recent reseeding efforts on the freak snow storm at the end of the year for its devastation.
Once you get to the putting surface, you're rewarded with some pretty good conditions. In fact, many of us who ended up just off the green were using our putters since any signs of grass was so short made it quite easy to deal with.
Understand that the management issues have been troubling in the past, but seems to be an effort to get things on track even though the course is closed now on Mondays & Tuesdays.
Clubhouse, food & beverages, along with a nice view of the valley from the back patio still continues!

First time out here and was very enjoyable. Fairways short, rough a bit thick at times. Fairly wide open to hitting areas, with no multi-level greens making it a bit easier to read.
Overall course conditions were a bit wet with a 9am tee time. Sand, although dark in color (almost like mud), was nice and deep in the five traps I entered. Course had some beauty to it as well, with all the lakes full, water-falls operating, making for a perfect setting. A certain course to return too!!!! This is also home to the best cart GPS system I've ever come across. Big screen, birds eye view of overall hole and green closeup, along with distances to all the hazards.

Top level course all the way from the staff down to course conditions. Each hole unique, many hitting over waste areas, bunkers with deep soft sand, roughs being the tall fluffy type with the ball settling a bit down, and challenging putting surfaces. I can't comment on the greens themselves since they had just punched them about three weeks prior, and although most were good, a couple showed signs. I'd imagine in two weeks they'd all be absolutely perfect.
For me, this is the kind of course where one treats themselves occasionally to the finer thinngs in golf. Although pricey, there's deals out there that get it down under a "C" note if you look.

Sure looked like it's been a tough summer. Fairways thin and rock hard. Traps were hard packed, some with no sand. Half the greens were in good shape while the other half were suffering from many bare spots. One par 3 even had a temporary green setup while work was being done to the actual, so at least they're trying. There'll be punching their greens in a couple weeks so maybe that's the remedy. All the water hazards were very, very low, which made an unattractive setting.
But if you like narrow tree lined fairways that roll forever, fairly flat greens, a fair amount of a variety from hole to hole, just keep your expectations on the low end and you should enjoy yourself.

First experience here, getting out with an weekday 7am start;
- Holes 1-9 pretty much water saturated everywhere. Putts were slow.
Fairways were as thin as thin can get. Excessive barren wasteland in numberous areas just outside of fairways.
Bunkers/traps were ridiculous being a 50/50 mix of sand and mud. Then with them being saturated, made it a triple hazard.
All in all, course layout provided various shot alternatives from hole to hole. Good mix of straight and narrow, dog-legs in both directions, along with sand/mud traps everywhere, which in my mind supports a very challenging round.
This course had to have more bunkers/traps then any course I've ever played.
If this place had grass, both on & off fairways, fixed up a couple greens, and got their water areas cleaned up and waterfall working, it could easily be a pristine place to play.

Place is a jewel. Course could not be in better condition; From tee to green, uniqueness of holes, highlighted by 18, challenging, peaceful, powerful carts for hills and not being limited to paths, 3hr45min round, has made this my new “go-to” local course.
Really worried about the recent courts takeover due to owner/management shenanigans, was pleasantly surprised with overall welcoming of staff from start to finish. Hopefully it doesn’t have long term effects on this place!!!
Highly recommend to anyone who wants an ***** overall golfing experience. Very much worth the drive for outsiders!!

9am Friday start moved continuously throughout the course. Can't comment on the greens since still suffering from plugging 10 day previous. Fairly narrow tree lined course with thin fairways and low rough.
Overall course manicure was quite nice, although if you're looking for a quiet, bird-chirping experience, you might want to look elsewhere as some of the holes border or within ear-shot of the freeway.

8:30am tee time went off on schedule. Good pace of play. Course was in A- condition with just a few fairway areas desiginated with ground under repair. Greens were at times a little quick but soft holding those 150+ approaches.
Since the SCGA bailed on the course, it seems to be trying very hard to maintain those standards. Very worthy course for all levels of play!!

Beautiful conditions all-around made this a very enjoyable round. Nothing "level", both elevation and side to side, raise the "challenge" factor higher then normal. I've added some various pics for everyone to gain a pretty good perspective of what to expect when visiting this place. You won't regret playing a round here, but just pick a day when the breezes are minimal.

Fairways/greens are in ideal condition. After getting out to a delayed start, played consistently throughout. Plenty of elevation changes that set this course apart from others.
No driving range, but do have 4 driving nets to loosen up in along with a small putting green adjacent to hole #1.

Beautiful course in a beautiful area. Nothing flat with this course, so course management is at an all time high. Greens were extremely firm and fast........difficult to keep the longer irons on. Greens were some of the most difficult I've ever had to read. No GPS provided and make sure you you hit the starter up for a course guide, as there's many hidden hazards throughout the course for you first timers!!
