Overall very good conditions with quick firm greens, and lush presentation. Always love returning to the superb service and facilities here. And don't forget the sub 4 hour rounds; excellent golfer discipline. Teed off, 2 ball, 0640, finishing at 1010.
Good promo until end of August. $36 for 36 holes.
Really worth a look.

Remote, Beautiful, Challenging, Scenic - INDEED. Chef, below, hits it on the head.
You are greeted warmly by the friendly staff, and entry to the pro shop allows you to walk proudly under a prominently displayed, huge banner declaring 'Best Value' by Greenskeeper.org.
Amazing design in a gorgeous setting requiring a solid game. Perfect greens, lush all around and nicely manicured. A must play, and only 10 minutes from Old Town Temecula.
Our underpar.com voucher $59 for two, on Wednesday 8/7/13- 0830. Worth it.

We finished off our underpar unlimited play two day voucher today at 0700 starting on Oaks. Nice staff and facilities (when construction is completed), well trained starter got us out first and Oaks was over by 0815. Superb nine hole design with ample challenge. The white tees were a mixed bag; good and fair. Blues looked in good condition, reds no worries.
Fairways quick and running, rough inconsistent from lush to thinning with not a problem to hit from. Sand was watered down and like porridge. Greens are immaculate, both on Oaks and Stone House. All were soft, holding well, rolled smoothly and fast = fun.
Did not see a drinks cart today at all.
Our Stone House nine began at 0825 and the two of us ran into some fours. Amazing design!! Very challenging even though short, with good scenery all around. Our favorite of the three nines for certain. Conditions similar with nice manicuring and superb greens.
All around an impressive property and "three" golf courses. Worth a look

Four of us from 0930 on Creek/Oaks Monday Aug 5, enjoyed the four casual hours on an engaging layout presented well. Loved the greens; bent and quick. Good design all around with shot making required. Fairways a bit dry and patchy, sand inconsistent, rough no worries. Very enjoyable for first timers and worth it. Will play Oaks/Stone House tomorrow and looking forward to it. Enough water stations, no marshal, good drinks cart and sufficient water stations. Renovations underway to the main building with pro shop. Park and carry bags or walk and get the cart to the lot as no bag drop for now.
Nice property.

July 12 tee 0830; finished at exactly 4 hours letting through 3 groups of members. Four of us off white tees enjoyed the superb course conditions; much improved from last time and worth the return. The two other courses have been closed due to grass kill from lack of watering (heat too), so only one course opened and it was busy.
All staff and service is first class. There was no drinks cart nor marshal all day, but lots of water stations along the way, and rest stations too. No GPS carts, but ice in the cooler, and towels included.
Get here early and enjoy the impressive huge practice facility.
All tees have been improved/repaired and were lush and level. Fairways, rough and greens are all green and lush with expert manicuring. Fairways fast, rough around an inch and thick, greens soft, smooth and medium speed, a few marks visible, no bare patches. Really, you can marvel at the designs.
Sand bunkers were good green-side, with some pebbles still there. Fairway bunkers are more compacted but groomed and manicured well. The condition today is more of what I would expect from this club and should be played if you get a chance. What an experience.

We 'bounced back' on our 36 holes for $36 today at 0815,finishing at 1130. Greens have picked up some speed since last time, and smoothed out nicely. Fairways fast, rough lush and thick but easy to hit from. Good sand throughout and everywhere nicely manicured. Tees a little tired but fine. Solid layout, mix your tees up if you like a little more challenge.
Great service and staff. Worth a look.

Good conditions overall, with very rapid recovery of the greens after the aeration. Service first class, good facilities, 3 hour round after 0630 tee time-2 ball and they have a $36 for36 holes promo. Bounce back round complimentary.
Good maintenance, manicuring and presentation with enough challenge on healing greens. Go play.

Lots to love here. Service, marshaling, maintenance, layout, and conditions really make it a special place for a game. Four of us off at 0700, in by 1120 with a full tee sheet past 0930. All aspects of presentation are terrific. There are some bare areas around a few fairways where the bermuda has not quite taken yet (dead rye), but really no problems affecting play. Greens are great, sand very good (HUGE bunkers -ouch) all perfectly manicured. If you can stand the heat, with a deal, highly recommended. Ours: Hot Deal $30.

Maintenance here is always impressive. It was hard to find any evidence of aeration only a few weeks ago; all is healed and in terrific shape.
Our 4 ball at 0730 took until noon to finish but a good place to spend the time. Nickesquire1 hits it well below, and only to add that everywhere was lush, green and well presented. Greens were smooth, and holding well, with medium pace. I love the layout and the terrific challenge, added to with the customer service, it is well worth a return. Our Hot Deal $30.

Just two of us among some 4 balls, June 3, 0806; finished in under 4 hours. Staff and service is what you would expect at a private club, although did not see a drinks cart nor marshal all day. Lots of water stations along the way. No GPS carts, but ice in the cooler, and towels included.
Prac-fac description in review below. Get here early and enjoy it.
I played the Blue/White Combo tees-Red for Shazza; they are in need of attention as grass is thinning and plenty of divots (sanded).
Fairways, rough and greens are in transition to bermuda, so rye is dying off leaving brown blotches behind. Fairways fast, rough dry, greens soft but bumpy from the transition to bermuda, and medium speed, some bare patches too, but you will love the design. Everywhere is perfectly manicured.
Sand bunkers were good green-side, airy, and plentiful, some pebbles still there. Fairway bunkers more compacted but groomed just as nicely; some sand areas are waste.
I have seen the course in better shape, but it is that time of year. This whole experience at MHCC, and the Dye Challenge, is always a treat and worthy of a return.

26 May, 0822 Two ball with Shazza on a warm morning with a slight breeze. We finished by noon.
Great staff, good service throughout the facility and club.
No GPS carts, but wet towels, free water and ice in the cooler.
The practice facility is significant, all grass double ended range, with balls stacked, two chipping areas, one with bunkers, huge main putting green by the clubhouse, and more by the first tees.
This is one of my favorite courses for its design and huge challenge. In fact it is called the Pete Dye Challenge course. You just can not get comfortable all day on any hole. I love to play here each month and dream badly about that first hole.
I played the Blue/White Combo tees-Red for Shazza; not in bad shape, but not good either. Some bare areas and needing of attention.
Fairways were good, drying, lush with a few bare spots requiring water, quick, and divots were filled with green sand.
The rough was lush, beautifully manicured, no bare areas, and easy to hit from.
Sand bunkers were good green-side, airy, and plentiful, some pebbles witnessed. Fairway bunkers more compacted but groomed just as nicely; some are waste areas. Greens were good. Smooth & firm, bumpy at times, medium to fast speed, and as the rye gets burned out there were some bare/brown patches. Love the greens design and complexes.
This whole experience at MHCC, and the Dye Challenge, is always a treat and worth a return.

22 April 1030 three ball on a gorgeous post card desert morning, finishing by 2pm. My mate from Oz is visiting and this was one of the courses on our list; his Hcp=8. The course hurt him.
As is always the case, check in a breeze, and busy today with three courses in play for the large membership.
Customer service is, essentially, perfect.
No GPS carts, but wet towels, free water and ice in the cooler.
Off to the all grass practice range and chipping area with Taylor Made practice balls neatly stacked. Good flat range with lots of targets. Two chipping areas, one with bunkers easily warm you up.
Good starter brief on the first tee (thanks Marv). This course is a tremendous test, and not a favorite of the members due difficulty. Having said that, I love Dye courses; how the design challenges you from the first tee shot ALL the way to the final putt on 18 green. I love to play here each month and dream about that first hole.
We played Black/Blue tees-Red for Shazza; they were in fair condition, lush (at times thin), level, no bare spots but divot damage mostly on the blues.
Fairways were good, firmish, lush with a few bare spots requiring water, but divots were filled.
The rough was lush, around 2 inches, no bare areas and did not see any damage from play.
Sand bunkers were good green-side, airy, and plentiful; fairway bunkers more compact but groomed just as nicely. Greens were good. Smooth, bumpy at times, medium to slow speed as they let the grass grow a bit, and there were some bare/brown patches but few ball marks. Lots of undulations and runoffs to plan your misses.
The design is aesthetically pleasing, if not a bit intimidating, and well presented. If opportunity arises to play with a member for $125, it is worth the experience.
