I have played both Troon courses and they are great. I generally stay near them and would play them every time I am here if they were not so expensive. Theay are worth playing once for the experience but depending on the time of year fees are $200+. It is hard to find better service or a prettier course that is also very challenging.

I go to AZ every year to golf and this is 1 of the courses I return to a lot. It is a fun layout with a (usually) dry creek running thru almost every hole. It is American golf so conditions are not always that good but lots of specials make it worth playing.

Course is in great shape though bunkers were hard packed due to recent rain. They are running promotion of $120 for SC residents so this is good time to play here for reasonable rate. There is no better service anywhere. For the rates they charge they don't like to get too pushy but if someone is slow they will request that groups behind be allowed to play thru. Also some of the most difficult greens around.

Could not find any deals elsewhere so decided to play here for $22 and was pleasantly surprised by the pace of play 4.5 hrs on a Sunday afternoon. Also the greens were as good as I've ever seen them here; a little long and slow but very few ball marks and no bare spots. Tee boxes were all being re-seeded and worked on so hard to complain. Fairways are thin and need work but for an executive course that gets as much play as this one they have done a good job of keeping it in decent condition.

Played 2 rounds here this past weekend and enjoyed the course. It is in good shape with some very narrow fairways especially on the front 9. There are some blind tee shots which will penalize you if you don't know exactly where to aim. I definitely played better the 2nd day when I knew the course (spend $5 for the yardage book). Avoid the rough b/c even if you find your ball you be in grass up to your knees! Worth playing especially if you can get a resident rate.

This is my favorite of the 3 PGAs. It has a links feel to it b/c you can play a lot of bump and runs and even putt from 10-20 yards off the greens. It has the least water but some amazing bunkers.

Great course but if you don't hit fairways and greens it will eat you up. Anytime a bunker has steps you know you are in trouble.

Played 6/1 for 1st time and really enjoyed the course. Fairways pretty forgiving, tight lies in front of greens made it easy to putt from the fringe. Everything in very good shape except like a lot of courses the sand in the bunkers was just OK. Group in front was slow so the marshall actually made them move up a hole to speed up play. Paid $65 with a member and for that price it was well worth it.

Played mother's day on a special rate. This is always a fun course especially when you start climbing into the hills on 7, an uphill par5. After there is a mix of elevation changes which with 18 supposedly the most elevated tee box in the US at 200 ft above the fairway. I don't know if their claim is true but it is really high!! It is only tee shot where I worry about driving through a fairway 300 yards away. The course was in good shape except for the greens which were definitely bumpy due to some poor maintenance and a lot of unrepaired ball marks. Despite that it is still worth playing here especially if you can get one of their specials.

played Friday 5/12 and discovered greens had just been aerated but they said nothing till we got there. I have never seen greens so poorly sanded as part of aeration. Every green had different amounts of sand that was unevenly disributed and #2 was so heavily sanded you couldn't even see the green. Not worth the $$ and they are wrong not to let you know the conditions when you make a reservation.

Played Monday 3/20 and went out as 2some since course not that busy. Fairways in great shape, ball always sat up nicely and saw no bare spots or even thin grass. Same with rough. Greens were a little bumpy in places and tough to read breaks since you could not always tell where the valley was if you don't know the course. Biggest complaint were the sandtraps. I avoided them until 17 where I was in bunkers 2x, but still noticed all day that they were dirt not sand and poor quality. Considering how nice everything else is it is a shame that the bunkers are not better. Layout is great and scenic and would definetly play here again.

Course is in very good condition from tee box to greens. Bunkers actually have real sand in them which is good because there are a lot of bunkers on this course. Course is pricey but you get good golf for your money.
