Played 9/4/20. Payed $35. Good value at that price. Tee boxes level. Fairways brown and thin in many spots. Greens rolled smooth, but 2 or 3 had damaged spots that had not healed yet. Sand traps had a good fill of sand. Course could use a little TLC. Lots of invasive grasses mixing with the course grass on tee boxes, fairways, and rough. Nice layout with lengthy par 4's on the 9th and 18th holes.

Very challenging greens on this course. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. A great layout and a joy to play. The only problem with this course is there is no transition areas between the greens and the desert and the fairway and the desert. Instead of letting the rough grow in these places to slow and catch balls, it is mowed almost as thin as the fairways. This results in decent shots rolling 10-20 yards into severe lies or desert. For example, I had one shot that would have stopped on the fringe a couple of inches off the green,.....but rolled 20 yards off because of the hard slick conditions.

Excellent value for the money. One of the best maintained low cost public courses in the area. Layout is great. The only fault this course has is the desert area which is just off the greens and fairways on many holes. There is little transition from rough to desert and the desert area is filled with small rocks that damage clubs. Management should take the time to replace the rocks with sand or other material that does not damage clubs. Until such a time I recommend either taking relief or bringing an old 5 iron to use.

Haven't played here for many years due to the problems the course was having. While not perfect,...I was pleased with the progress the staff has made to make the course playable and enjoyable. Tee boxes and greens were excellent. Fairways were good with some "winter rules" patches. First cut of rough was generally lush, but beyond that patchy at best. Sand traps are one area that needs to be addressed. Many rocks and not much sand. It would be better if they made them smaller but maintained them better. Best local opportunity to play links golf. The price is right.

This course is a great value for the money. The greens are in outstanding shape and roll smooth. The fairways are in spotty condition,...lush in some places, dried out in others. Play winter rules when you roll up in these and you'll be fine. The rough is in decent shape, We played them as they lied in the rough. Sand traps are in better shape than in the past. All we came across were well groomed. Some were a little thin on sand, but none of them played hard as a rock.

This course is always in tip-top shape.....Tee to green! Smooth greens, well manicured sand traps, lush fairways. There is nothing to complain about this well run course. Plus the layout is challenging and fun.

Played 11-2-16. The best thing about El Prado is that they keep their greens in great shape. Fairways were patchy, but if you play winter golf rules that will make up for any bare patches you encounter. Sand traps are awful,...play your lob wedge without opening the blade to get out of these better. Still El Prado is a good value for the money and the pace of play is usually fast. We finished in 3 1/2 hrs with a 10am tee time.

Love the layout of this course. Currently the fairways are quite a bit burnt. If playing winter rules is ok with you, then this poses no problem. Sand traps are well maintained, but have dense sand,...so use your lob instead of sand wedge. They use a different grass here on the greens than other courses in the area. Your ball won't make much of a mark landing on them,..but they are not hard and fast and roll smooth. However, I had a hard time reading the breaks. I read more break into most of my putts than there was.

Golf course is a scenic wonder. Did not have as much fairway burn as other courses in the area. Sand is well maintained, but dense.....use a lob instead of a sand wedge. Greens were smooth and played to a good speed. When choosing your tees,...use the slope to determine where to play. This course plays very difficult at the longer lengths and is tight with the potential to lose a lot of balls. If this is your first time at this course, tee it forward. I hit my drives 250 with a 11 handicap, but played the copper tees as they have a slope of 120. Now that I have played the course I will move to the white tees next time.

Course is in excellent shape. Greens are smooth and very challenging with lots of undulation. This is one of the few courses that is maintaining their sand traps. All were in great condition and well maintained with plenty of sand. Price is reasonable and the staff is friendly. The only criticism is a lack of driving range. However there is a netted area to warm up hitting irons

Course is gradually getting better since it has been in receivership. Greens are very fast (compared to other local courses such as Goose Creek and Eagle Glen) but roll smooth. Fairways are the same winter conditions that you find everywhere now. Sand traps are unacceptable (mostly hardpan with a thin layer of sand on top). This is a good layout and I would suggest playing winter rules here,.....and move your ball to an acceptable part of a green side sand trap if you land in one. I know that's golf blasphemy,....but the traps are truly unacceptable. Note to course,....at least maintain the bunkers that surround the greens,.....make them a size you can maintain and surround them with rough.

Great layout at a reasonable price. Generally kept in good shape year round. Greens are challenging. Greenskeeper likes to set pins in devilish areas on some holes.
