former moreno valley ranch 27 holes now rancho del sol 18 holes. played at 10:15 33 dollars with a pop of 3.5 hrs. definitely on our rotation from now on. new carts great customer service and while not in pristine condition it is worth every penny, i firmly believe that in the winter or spring this course is going to be immaculate. at present time there is no driving range, but am told it is in the works and the old club house is to be torn down and a new one built at an adjacent piece of the property. the building serving as a club house now is quite nice and built on the heavy duty side not sure iffen it will remain as some sort of snack bar as there is a nice outdoor dining area. as for the course itself everything is above par, however if you stray off of the fairways on some not all holes you will find spinach of various kinds grass, clover , weeds good luck, i lost a ball 5 feet from the fairway and we saw where it went same for my friend. most greenside bunkers had spinach over a foot deep and penal.
the greens are super soft but rolled true with med fast speed with virtually no damage of any kind. this is a good course with great layout. the front plays long especially from the tips the back plays short because of distance and elevated tees, no. 18 is now a par 3 which also cuts down the yardage. in the midst of so many courses closing i find it refreshing that this place has reopened, and reopened with a bang. i give this place a 9.5 fun factor rating. if anyone is listening this would be a great place for the GK boys to have an outing. RDS should be on your hit list sooner rather than later.

not sure how we go from 3.2 to 7.9 in one week. we had a 11ish tee time for 22 dollars well worth the fees. one quirk here is they charge 2 dollars for use of GPS charged up front but refundable if you turn it off after a few holes, its old antiquated but useful if never playing here, Informative about those pesky berns. the course is being watered to the point of some muddy spots here and there however this is a good thing as grass is actually growing. tee boxes are lush and the best part of the course, fairways are quite good with the occasional dry spots able to take nice divots no complaints, sand traps are mostly compact moist sand totally playable and able to generate an Abu dance of spin, greens are med fast roll true but all have multiple brown spots as if mown too short and way too many unrepaired ball marks. rough.. what rough its just hard dirt accept the challenge as you can clip the ball nicely. as for those well placed berns they now have some amount of water in most of them with many having lush growth in some parts which means its not just pulling your ball out of a dry creekbed, i wish there was someway to mark them with flags or posts as this would be helpful especially for newbies. overall i give this course a fun factor of 8. if things continue to progress at this rate this place should be spectacular in the spring.

have not played here in some time, but the basic course is the same albeit two new features.
1. the gulley on the left side of hole 8 has been filled in with mulch making the hole much less demanding, the gulley was stinky nasty and now looks much better but i preferred the challenge.
2. the huge pit on the right side of hole 15 has also been filled in with mulch, no more lost balls for the slicers. once again making the hole much easier. too bad as it would have been perfect for a lake. just another city run muni with fair conditions at best, decent driving range but has a very nice short game area. pop was 4:45 for 23 holes, we played a few over because of slow players in front, never pushed. 28 to ride at 10:30 ok for todays new reality. but only 16 to walk which is quite fair. my personal fun factor would be a solid 7.

played sl on tue 3/3. had to play front side only as they were punching the back nine and front nine was punched on mon. typical condiyions except the fairways are a bit thin. not worth the price right now, but give it 2 weeks and it should be good to go.

played 3/27 everything here is about average as usual, however the greens were punched and are still in bad shape. it will take at least 2 more weeks to recover, the fairways are quite spotty hopefully they will fill in with some warmer weather.

so played here mon 3/26 let me just cut to the chase, this is the new el rancho verde,
or maybe el prado. tee boxes fair to poor, fairways are just horrible, the only saving grace are the greens quick with slope and bent grass albeit a little shaggy. this course should be on your to do list at some point. if you do go be sure to visit the mens locker/restroom and turn your mind back 50 years.

played on thurs 3-5-15
windy as it sometimes is in fontana
greens are punched with jagged large holes
looks as if the cutting teeth on the machine are worn out or dull
and the person driving must have been asleep
no rhyme or reason as to the pattern on the greens
multiple punch strikes everywhere
these greens will take some time to recover
the rest of the course is mostly pristine as usual
