Played Apple Valley Saturday 6/18/11. Greens, tees, fairways, rough and sandtraps in top condition. Very enjoyable round on a beautiful day.

Played Rancho Vista on 4/22/11. Greens have just been aerated. The good news is the green fee was discounted. Except for the greens the course in good shape. Tees and fairways had good grass coverage and there were very few bare spots. The traps I was in had plenty of sand. Wait a few weeks before playing here if you don't like plugged and heavily sanded greens.

Played Apple Valley today Monday(4/11/11) and found spring maintenance had started today. No notice on GK of work being done. Condition of course at this moment is a work in progress and no discount on green fee for poor playing conditions.

Played Green Tree on Sunday(4-3) and saw quite a bit of improvement in the condition of the course from what I reported late last year. The greens were plugged last week and are slightly bumpy and slow which is to be expected. Fairways and rough have greened up from the winter and the course is green and lush. Traps were OK but a few need to be worked on. Overall a nice day on an improving course.

Played Green Tree on Sunday October 3. In prep for winter they have let regular maintenance go to pot. Tees were overseeded and all play was from forward tees. Fairways and rough were not mowed and were overgrown. Entire course was a muddy from over watering. Traps were not being maintained at all. For now stay away. 2 weeks ago course was in shape.

Played the Mountain Course the day after playing the Championship Course. Fun executive layout that is deceivingly difficult. Conditions were good but they are preparing for winter and there were a lot of maintenance people on the course causing waits on some tees. Tees and fairways were being plugged causing some poor lies. Greens were faster than they looked and in good condition. Traps were firm but there was plenty of sand. Will be back next year.

Played the Championship Course at Incline Village on Wednesday 9/22. Course is in very good condition for this late in the summer. Fairways, greens and traps were as expected for a high end course. Tees had been plugged but were level and very playable. Course will close in early October for winter. Good RTJ Sr. layout that is expensive but worth it.

I have not played Hesperia for 2 years because of poor playing conditions. Finally played this past Sunday but was still discouraged by what I saw. They are trying to improve the course but the city, who now owns the course, has a long road ahead of them. The bigger problem is their attitude is that if they don't turn a profit in one year they will close the course. If they don't spend a little money and find someone who can turn things around a good, classic William Bell layout will be gone because of a city who bought the course for the water rights. SAD!

Played Escena on 3/24/10 at 7:30 am with $68 tee time thru Golf-Now.com. Very nice facility and the course is in excellent condition. They do not have a full length driving range only a warm up cage. The putting green was in bad shape but the greens on the course were very good. Good experience overall and I would go back.

Have played this course over the last several years while on vacation at Lake Tahoe. This course is fun to play with some tight driving holes and small greens. It has just opened after the winter closure and is in good condition for this early in the year. Most of the area courses will not be open until Memorial Day week. Overall, a course that's fun to play but not quite the quality of The Championship Course at Incline or Edgewood but also not as expensive.

As an ex-member I have a special feelings about this course. It is not the most difficult course in the high desert but it is fun to play and is almost always in good condition. Tees, fairways and greens are good but the traps are inconsistent. This time of year frost delays are common and tee times are delayed. Check with the course before driving any distance. Played on Sunday, 1/11/09 , and had a great round. Greens and tees were excellent but the fairways were dormant and ran fast. The town takeover has probably been a good thing for the course. However, there is a dispute over water rights between the Town of Apple Valley and a local charitable foundation that might cause some problems. Stayed tuned for further updates. All in all AVCC is great addition to the public courses in the high desert.

Played Dos Lagos on Saturday 6/21 and it was hot!!! Temp when we finished at 1:30 was 112. Condition of course was good in spite of the temperature. Layout is interesting. Front 9, in my opinion, is better than the back with more strategy involved. Back 9 more open except for the holes on the side of the mountain. On the back some of the holes are adjacent to each other and we were nearly hit by a few wayward shots. Management needs to look at this before someone gets hurt. As others have said in past reviews lack of a clubhouse and driving range is a major detriment and I agree.
