Played the classic today. Its typical mile square. Tee boxes chewed up and sanded. Fairways hit and miss. Some had great coverage, others had GUR. The greens were the highlight for sure. They were firm and fast. They matched the practice greens perfectly, they held shots, and putted true. Like always at MS, the greens were the highlight.

Played the Dye at MHCC on 1/3/20 @ 11:34am. It is very similar to The Stadium Course over at PGA West. It was awesome tee to green. The greens were small, there is water everywhere, and where the water isn't, there is sand on the opposite side. The dormant rough was easy to hit from, and the one green side bunker I was in was pure to hit from. Its a solid test of golf, but if you are striking it well, you can score well.

What would make the course really difficult is if the greens were lightening fast. Yesterday the greens were rolling at a medium pace which helped big time in my ability to keep my score respectable for my first time out. There were numerous greens that looked as though there was not a flat spot on them.

Very visually intimidating off the tee like many Dye courses and the tee box can set you up for trouble if you do not pay attention. I had a blast and highly suggest the track if you would like a challenge.

Played on Sunday, 12/29 at 11:06am for 96 dollars. That is a deal at this place considering the rack rate was 180.00!!!! Everything is dormant and it was CPO due to the rains. It was not bad at all, however there were some oversaturated areas on certain fairways. I was in 2 bunkers and the sand was solid to hit from. The greens were the highlight for sure, true and quick.

If I can play here for 100.00 or less, I think it is worth it. It is one of the only Fazio courses in OC that is public and you can play for under $250.00(Pelican Hill). The Irvine Company likes to put the screws to you as far is price is concerned, but it also keeps a lot of people away, at times. It did make for a great pace of play, but that also could have been the recent rains keeping people away. I have a hard time paying anything over 100 dollars if the place isn't historic or 9-10 as far as conditions.

Played Navy on 12/12. Typical Navy. Fairways were solid for the most part. They were still damp from the rains, so if you didn't hit the ball perfectly, you chunked it. Rough not too difficult. The greens are what they are here at the end of the day. It's poa and its bumpy by twilight. I love the course. Great layout and a great deal in OC. Play can be slow during twilight, but you can always get out. No complaints during this round. Oh snack shack is now card only, fyi......

Went out as single yesterday at 11:26 on the Shore Tourney Course. Starter put me out on the back 9 so when I made the turn, I had the place to myself. It was CPO and conditions were epic, minus the greens. The greens were slow, but that is what comes with the courses just coming out of the overseed. Yesterday was day 3 of the Shore Course being open. What a cool layout and getting to play a major championship course was awesome. If you can get out, I highly recommend it. I feel if you play the course a couple times, you have the ability to go low. But, I bet that changes big time as they get ready for ANA. Really want to play the Dye and Palmer there now...

Played the Santa Rosa course at Mountain Vista on 11/11. Nice, easy course. Everything was in great shape. The greens were a tad slow, but that is expected this time of year. I will definitely be back for more rounds. I look forward to playing the sister course as well. Seems to be one of the better deals in the desert this time of year.

What an awesome golf course. The place was in great shape. Played on 5/3/19 at 1:30pm for $45. The greens were a little bumpy from what seemed to be aeration 4-5 weeks ago (guess). Totally worth the drive. Place gets windy, and playing more than once would easily help your score (go figure). I highly recommend the place.

Out for a Sunday round at muni. Course was already a group behind when our tee time came up at 9:37am. This was literally the longest round of golf I have ever played. Im sorry but 6 hours is ridiculous. I will not be playing sc muni on the weekend ever again. The tee times were stacked and there was no pace of play enforced at all. Disappointing for such a fun course to play.
