December 9. the usual play here and go to the airport. Probably the best i have ever seen this course tee to green. bunkers need a little help in manicuring and raking. New rakes wider furrows should do the trick. Otherwise no complaints here.

Price, course, staff and experience was second to none. Play here early though as I have played in the afternoon and it can get long in a hurry.

Played on December 8th. The beauty of the are is unmatched actually feel like you are in Tuscany and that was the image they were going for. The facility is a real estate development that never got completed. There are now signs of life and this Faldo design is just alot of fun to play. There are 6 sets of tees so go challenge yourself.

The Pro's were knowledgeable and willing to discuss the course before going out there. The starter got us out before a $100 nassau, 4 ways with 1 down automatics so we were so grateful.

Go out and play here you won't be disappointed.

Played on December 7. This course is very good and very playable. Claim to fame is it has the largest Driving range in the US and it has hosted PGA tour Q school several times. Layout was fun and challenging. I like this course better than Crooked Cat.

However, pace of play was poor to bad. Besides the bag drop area the staff in particular management were bad. I won't bash the people but inbox me for further details. Just know before you go you are there for the courses not the service. I truly felt bad for the women in the clubhouse, she was the only person behind the bar at lunch time when 2 course were finsi9hing there morning rounds and starting there afternoon rounds. Needless to say the bar was 3 deep at times with golfers looking for food and drink.

BTW this happened to us last year too and we thought it was a fluke , Guess Not?? next year we go elsewhere.

to start off with I love the layout, staff, food, facility. I am also aware that they are about 30 days remove from major reseeding project. So this is more of a know before you go rather then a critical commentary of the place.

Played yesterday. Place was full but managed an early tee time. To my dismay the Blue tees usually 6500 yards were placed forward not one tee box ( white but 2 tee boxes to green). It was clear that on the first 7 holes there was no mowing of fairway in some time. Very shaggy. Greens were bumpy through 4. Rough however was 3-5 inches around and penal. very consistent too. I managed to get into 3 fairway traps and they were all different., from having little to no sand to having the sand rise up over my shoes as I entered the trap.

Now the pace of play was 4:15 which is great here. after 7 greens and fairways were close to normal. Maybe we were just too early for the lawn mowers on the front side? who knows. But the bottom line is we enjoyed ourselves and would go back.

Played 11/15/13. This is my first time playing here. To start off, driving up to the clubhouse was impressive. I for one enjoy seeing facilities that show an attention to detail, it makes me believe that their course has the same attention. I was impressed with the quaint charm the facilities expressed. Walked into the pro shop as a single and was treated like a regular from the beginning. I paid and went straight to the first tee to join a twosome.

The course was a great experience. The variety of holes long and short, uphill and downhill had me thinking from the first shot. But at this course as i quickly found out the game here is on the greens. They rolled magnificently. One comment, stay below the hole if you want a shot at birdie !!!!! Fairways are hard and fast. rough is limited so be careful your ball can roll right through the fairway/rough and into the canyons..... So give generous room when you try to cut dog legs. Was only in one bunker all day and it was a fairway binker and it was in real good shape.

Groundskeeper and staff should be proud of the course they put out. I enjoyed it and this will become a regular spot for me.

Played on August 11th. Intrigued by website looked like a top notch place outside of typical Maui resort golf. Boy was I fooled. Paid $94 with my son. Hit tee shot on first hole, 410 yard par 4 and hit it poor and had lob wedge for a second shot. This is definitely links golf. They layout was interesting and could be very challenging in a weird way. Manny elevation changes and the wind howls here. The course looks like a layout that was supposed to be a crown jewel of a housing complex that didn't quite make it. First 2 and last 2 holes don't quite fit the other 14 and there are a few in the other 14 that don't match up well.

The final touch was going to the parking lot to put the clubs away we were met with a half dozen cats hanging around and a man standing in the parking lot urinating on a tree in plain sight.

All in all not the worst experience but wouldn't go back much better places to play in better condition and more enjoyable

Played August 9th. This course is on the side of the mountain as you fly into Maui. It is right in the valley and well the wind blows. First impressions are fantastic. Full complete warm up facility. Great friendly staff. Once again went out as 5 and we had another 5 in front of us. We waited almost every hole. However we paid $250 for 5 golfers at 9:30 in the morning so who cares. A marshall would have been nice but once again the rice point was too good to pass up. I truy loved the course and this will be on my list to return to. New carts, great greens and an overall nice track. The course winds through the mountain, up, down and across. We had a 2 plus club into our face on some and 350 yard drives on par fives. You had to think your way around or come up with a big number on a hole. bridies were rare as there was always wind on your approach. We contnued our 3 team hawaiian open skins game format and found that we had any carry overs making the course even more fun. If you go you will have to factor wind and elevation changes on everyshot. Go play it the course is fun and the price is great.

This is the oldest of the courses at Wailea. Old Blue as it is known. The initial impression you get whenyou arrive is that Wailea has forgotten this one. There is one person in the bag area and 1 personin the pro shop. We carried our bags up from the parking lot as there was no one to take them for us. Now that said, Our exeriance was great. We our on a family vacation and have 5 golfers all under a 14 handicap. They let us out as 5 as long as we didn't back up course and we abliged by letting everyone who waited on us to play through. The warm up facility is a bunch of mats and nets. I suggest by passing that go to the putting green and tee off from there. The course has some great view and all in all was in exceptional shape. I warn all though that the sand is not mainland sand and you will have to make some adjustments to get out of it. By the way they had a family deal of $250 for 3. They gave s the same per palyer rate for 5. So not only was it a good time but it was an affordable day of Maui golf. Go there enjoy have a great time as we did and don't let first impressions fool you.

Wailea Gold is the crown Jewel of the Wailea complex. To start customer service is exactly what you would expect from a top notch facility. Add in Hawaiian hospitality and you couldn't ask for more. Course is very fair and if you play the wrong tee boxes you can be in for a long day. Remember this is a resort course. Not everyone out there is on tour. That said they were aerating the Emerald course on August 7th so everyone was on The Gold. It was a slow day. There is not one bad thing to say about the course or facilty with the exception of the bunkers they just weren't up to the same quality as the rest of the course. Not that they were bad just not as good as the rest. They had a great parent junior rate of $199 for both so it worked for me. Come out enjoy the course.

played late June. From the beginning loved the customer service and the layout. Desert golf without tricked up holes. Very playable for all levels. beautiful conditioning. My son and I played through slower groups and although 108 degrees it was a great day.

Really not much to say about the experiance except if you are in town go play it you will enjoy it.
