Tee Time: 9am
Weather: Morning after overnight showers. Course was wet. Weather was beautiful. Great weather for golf.
Pace of Play: 4 hrs
Tee Boxes: Great! Tee boxes were level and very well maintained
Fairway: Great, with some exceptions. The ground was wet due to the weather, but as the day went, the fairways were in great condition. Not too hard... and not to soft. Nicely trimmed and very few patchy areas. I don't recall hitting from any bare spots in my round.
Green: AWESOME!! Greens were rolling true. It was like a rug! Very nicely maintained. Probably some of the best greens around for a course that gets a lot of volume.

Overall: It's been a long time since I played here. The course condition was great. Very surprised by the conditions. I use to come here pretty frequently and I would say it was fairly average. After today, I would say the course is great, especially for the price. I would say the course is about a 7 to a 7.5. Definitely will be playing here more often.

Pace of Play: 4.5hrs
Holes Played: 18
Tee Box: Tee boxes were good. No complaints here. Well kept.
Fairway: Fairways were good for the most part. Some areas were bare and dry. However, since CA is in a drought right now, its pretty much expected that the courses will have dry areas. If I had to throw a number on it, I would say maybe 35% of the fairways were dry.
Greens: Half the greens were getting aerated. The other half was great. Smooth and rolling great.

Overall, the course was good. Its been awhile since I played here. I remember the course being a lot more greener. However, I think w/ the drought, the course looks dryer than what I recall. If I had to rate it, I would say its a 5.5-6.

Tee Box - some were bare, most were okay. However some were not level. I would say 5 out of 18 were not level.
Fairway - Fairway was good for the most part. Some spots were bare and dry.
Greens - greens here are always good. Due to the heat, some holes were really watered down.

Overall the course condition was fair. I would rate it somewhere between a 5.5-6.5. A lot of people will rate it poorly because of the dirt road, however I think the dirt plays as part of the course. A bad shot off the fairway will make it difficult for players, as you will be hitting off the hard/bare dirt. Furthermore, it is a tough course for people who hook the ball. Most of the OB on the course is on the left, and once the ball head towards the left, it will bounce on the dirt and roll to OB. So players will need to plan and play accordingly.

Tee Box: Overall conditions of the tee box were good. I would describe as your typical/average city tee boxes - nothing special, nothing bad.

Fairways: Good fairways. Fairly clean and not too many bare spots. I would say 80% of the fairways was good and 20% were bare.

Rough: Same as the fairways, nothing great, nothing bad.

Green: Greens were soft/firm and fairly smooth. There were some duck poop around some of the holes, so that can be annoying. Overall good/playable conditions. However, I didn't like the pin placements today. All the pins were on a hill and the putts would roll next to the hole and roll right back 10 feet away from the pin. I believe there's a tournament today, which is why the pins were place in difficult positions.

Overall: As mentioned, its your typical city golf course. It's definitely better in comparison to others around the area. I would say the rating should be about 5.5 to a 6.5.

River View is a fun and unique course play. I played here on a Saturday Morning at 9:30. Took us about 5 1/2 hrs to finish the round. Fairways are good and tee boxes are good. Bunkers are fine as well. However, the greens were in great condition. Overall its a great place to play when you can't find a tee-time early Saturday morning. Furthermore, its a great value and they don't charge much at all. If you book through GolfNow, you can get a rate of about $31 w/ cart on a weekend! They also have a very nice practice green.

The reason I say this is a unique course is because the difficulty of course will depend on the weather. When its raining, this course is super tough (and I MEAN TOUGH). However, when there's a drought (like now), its super easy to shoot low scores here.

Overall, its a nice course to play once in a while.

Playtime: Played around 12:30pm on a Sunday. Clear and Sunny - perfect So Cal weather. Finished in about 5 hrs and 15 mins. Carts on path for about 8-9 of the holes which might have slowed down play.

Fairways: Fairways were brown (typical during winter time for most courses I believe). For the most part, the fairway was thin to lush. Roughs were tough in some areas.

Teebox: Tee boxes were nice and well maintained. No issues here.

Greens: Greens were very bumpy. Green was soft (We did tee off later in the day, so that's probably why it was bumpy). A lot of bird poop on some greens that made it difficult to putt.

In summary, I think this course is over priced for the quality. I expected the greens to be nice and smooth, but they weren't. However, they lay-out of the course was great and the course is beautiful. They only problem is the greens.
