Played yesterday 8/25. 9:30 tee time. I've been looking forward to playing this course for a long time. Heard so many good things about it. It's in the hills above Oceanside in a housing community, but the homes sit back off the fairways and don't come into play. Very impressed with the overall conditions. The fairways were very green and cut short and had good lies on every hole. The rough was just thick enough that if you didn't catch the ball clean you could easily chunk it. The tee boxes were a little longer than my liking, but never had a problem finding A good spot. Overall very impressed with this very challenging course. BTW played the blue tees, almost 6300 yards and thought they played much longer than that, especially on 3 or 4 holes on the back nine including the challenging 18th hole, that if you don't hit a perfect drive around 240-260, you wil have anywhere from 180-200 all carry over water to the green. Highly recommended.

Played on Sunday 10/9. This is becoming one of my favorite courses. Combination of reasons. First, it's never crowded, had 9:00 tee time, got out at 8:30. Also the course itself is always in good to very good condition. Playing from the orange tees will give you plenty of challenge here and you will not be disappointed. The weekend green fee of $45.00 with cart can't be beat and I will continue the make the drive from Pasadena to play this fantastic track. I think this past weekend it was not crowded due to the heat in Ojai compared to Oxnard and Ventura. Last thing hole # 8 when the flag is all the way on the left side of the green can be one of the toughest holes anywhere.

Haven't written a review in quite a while due to my wife's illness. It's been about 6 months since I've been able to get out and play. So on Sunday morning played El Prado Chino Creek for the first time. Had originally made a tee time at Butterfield, but driving up noticed the smell from the Plant across the street, so we decided to Play the other course. Starter got us out within 20 minutes and we played as a threesome. Played from the Blues, around 6800 yards. was impressed with the variety of holes and especially the condition of the fairways and greens. everything was very green, good coverage on the teeing areas and basically the whole course. The greens were very fast and didn't really hold shots, so there was some adjustments to be made, but overall a very nice Golfing experience, and would highly recommend playing here. Close to the Los Serranos courses, but not nearly as crowded.

Played Los Amigos for the first time Saturday 8-2. Was anticipating a really great experience and was not disappointed. I had heard the Course was is disrepair about 3 years ago and was taken over by a management group, well they did a fantastic job on everything from the Course conditions, the Pro shop, the bathrooms and overall quality of the grounds. As for the Golf Course itself, loved the combination of doglegs, short holes and challenging par 4's. Am looking forward to playing there again very soon. BTW would choose Los Amigos over Rio Hondo anyday.

Having played here for many years, this is what you would call a hidden gem. The 9 hole par 3 course hidden behind the Manhattan Beach Marriot will challenge even the best golfers with it's hilly terrain and elevated greens. They keep the course in very good condition and I don't think it gets a lot of play because of it's location. A must play for all golfers.

Was on a trip to Tucson, and decided to play Southern Dunes based on previous reviews. It's about a 20 minute drive if your'e coming up the 8. It is really in the middle of nowhere just outside of Maricopa. Started playing at about 2:30 on a Friday and it was about 102 degrees. First thing you notice is the Sand, and I'm talking about a lot of sand. The only Courses I have played with even a close amount would be Desert Willow Firecliff and SilverRock. Almost impossible to play a full round here and not be in a trap. Now understand I don't mind Traps, they really don't bother me. But what I do mind is hitting out of hard packed dirt. There in lies the problem. They don't take care of the traps. The rest of the course was in great shape. The Greens were very smooth, the fairways and rough almost immaculate and the layout very challenging. I would call this a Target Golf Course because of the location of the Traps in the middle of the fairways anywhere from 220-280 yards from almost every Tee. Would definitely play there again if they ever get the Traps in good shape.

Played 4/23 9:00 tee time 2 ball. Have played almost all of the courses in the Desert except this one. Not sure why. Have read the recent reviews, so we took the day off and drove down. Could not have been happier. Probably one of the most well maintained Golf courses I have ever played. We scored on Underpar.com for 39.00 for the two of us for unlimited play. Because of the heat, 95 at 11:00 we only played 18, but for the money, fantastic Bang for the Buck. The fairways were lush and green. The Tee boxes were in great shape, the rough was cut low, which allowed the ball to sit up. And the Greens must have been punched maybe 3 weeks ago were almost perfect. Highly recommend this place, I will be back soon.

Played Rustic Friday, had 11:20 tee time. Have not played there in about 5 years. The weather was perfect, high 70's little wind, blue skies, could not have been better. The course was in very playable condition. The only drawback was the fairways. Many bare spots and clumps of grass, Hard to find a good lie. We decided among the four of us to Play "Winter Rules" . For me the most difficult part of this Golf Course is the Greens. If you don't hit your approach shot to the correct side of the Green with all the mounds and undulations, you might end up with a 30-50 foot putt. Was not happy with my 4 putt on the 18th. All in All a perfect day for Golf on one of my favorite Tracks.

Played the Mountain course on Sunday. Had played it many years ago, but didn't remember much about it. I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. some of the holes against the mountain backdrop are breathtaking. The greens, fairways and overall conditions of the course were as good as I've ever played. could not find too many bad lies in the fairways. What make this track difficult is the elevated greens on almost every hole. sometimes hitting one to two clubs more than normal. Par 3 16th hole plays downhill to an almost island green surrounded by rocks. if you miss the green say goodbye. Was staying at the resort and would highly recommend playing here now.

Stayed and played Spanish Bay last weekend, decided to play here instead of Spyglass, glad we did. Have to say this course played much more difficult than Pebble. The links style coupled with many uphill greens surrounded by traps and fescue made this a very demanding layout. The tight fairways and landing areas were target golf to the max. Without a doubt enjoyed the challenge, even though I think I lost 6 balls. Probably 13 ocean views and deer everywhere. The best golf weekend ever.

Played Pebble June 23rd. My Birthday weekend. The big 60. went with my wife, sister and brother in law. The wife and sister not being golfers found plenty of things to do, shopping, horseback riding, sightseeing etc. Since we were staying at Spanish Bay, that ended up being the other course we played. Now to Pebble. It's hard to describe the sheer beauty of the surroundings without being there, but it can definitely be a distraction. The course is in fantastic shape. The Tees, greens and fairways in almost perfect condition. The traps had pure white sand in them, and the rough was cut just enough to make the shots out of them fair. I think the one mistake we made was taking a cart, knowing it was cart path only and walking back and forth across the fairways, instead of walking and taking a caddy. expensive, but worth it.

Played Entrada last weekend as part of my annual St. George golf trip. They have a package now starting after June 1st. It includes stay at the Casita and Golf for 135.00 plus taxes. You can't beat this deal anywhere considering the combination of beauty and challenge at this golf course. The course winds through Black Lava rock and with views of the red rocks of southern Utah, it is spectacular. Course conditions were almost perfect,. Fairways tee boxes and greens in great shape. btw this course used to be public, but it is now semi private, so the only way to play is to stay there. We were going to play Kokopelli, but found out they closed. If you are going to ST. George this is a must play.
