I have had the opportunity to play this track multiple times. So if you get the chance to play it take it and run with it. Depending on the time of year that you play the course the greens differ in speed. I played the course mid October and wow were the greens like my driveway. They were so fast that balls were passing the hole at a crawl and would stop 50 feet from the hole. Playing with a member is a must for their local knowledge of the greens. Below the hole is a must!!

The front nine is picturesque and the easier of the two nines. There are two fairly reachable par fives on this nine but take two good shots to get there. The par four 5th hole is the toughest hole on the front. Uphill all the way and long. The green is a beast as well. It looks flat in areas but no putt on the green is flat. Seven and nine and reachable par 4's but accuracy is a must.

The back nine is much longer than the front with a 600+ yard uphill par 5 13th hole. The 14th is a pretty tough par 3 that measures 245+ from the tips. 17 is the toughest hole on the back nine with a 240 yard carry to start the hole. It then doglegs to the left and goes uphill. par on this hole is a good score.

I have played this course four times with 80 being the highest score I have shot and 74 the low. The course can be getable with some local knowledge. Cordillera has three other courses (mountain, summit, and the short) so if your planning a vacation to the vail valley then try to play all of them. Each one has a different feel.

I played this course on October 12, 2013. I was lucky enough to play for free by utilizing their birthday golf feature. Sign up on their website and you get one free round on any of the City of Longmont golf courses. There are three courses in Longmont. But Ute Creek is by far more worth using the coupon on than the other courses.

The Course:
The Course was in fair shape for the beginning of October. They didn't aerate the greens this fall due to the massive amount of rain at the beginning of September. The greens were very soft and due to that they weren't in the best of shape. They rolled very true but the amount of spike marks and unrepaired ball marks made it difficult to make a putt.

The front nine is very open with very wide fairways and very little places to get into trouble. The par 5's are both reachable in two with a good drive. There are a few par 4's on the front that are long but dont have much trouble. The par 3 sixth hole features a two tiered green and is surrounded by bunkers and the par 3 eighth is a short hole with water from tee to green.

Once you start the back nine is when it gets somewhat tough. With three par fives on the back nine alone a good score can be had with some local knowledge. The par 4 10th hole is a very tight hole and is long. Water runs all the way down the left side of the hole and also comes across the fairway up by the green. The 11th hole is a par 5 that is reachable in two but very high risk reward hole. With a severe dog leg left off the tee you can cut the corner if you can carry the ball a long way. But with high native grass and hazard running the entire left side of the hole and once again coming across the fairway up near the green, the hole is tough. 13 is also a dog leg left par 5 but not much trouble. Some short par 3's and par 4's are thrown in there and are some good scoring holes. 17 is a 600+ yard par 5. 18 is a great finishing hole with water on the right side by the green.

The customer services was good but the pace of play was super slow. Played the course in just over 5 hours which on a weekend afternoon is not unheard of.

All in all for a free round of golf I cant complain. If the greens had been in good shape it would have been a better experience. I would suggest taking the drive from Denver to play this track.
