Played in a tournament 4-26-2013. Have played twice before in previous years. Course is among the best conditioned I've played in some time. Yes the greens are fast and undulating, they are very smooth and true. Love the design and the layout! Must play if you are in the area!

Played 6-15-2012. Play here every year at this time of year. This is an excellent, old-style, tree-lined course near the Prescott airport. At around 5000 ft. in elevation, it is a great escape from the heat elsewhere in Arizona. The course is long for amateurs, but very straightforward in design. It is always in very good condition. The greens are generally quite contoured and challenging. There is a very good mix of holes, but every one is lined with mature trees. I prefer this course to the South course which is a newer more wide open design and is significantly easier. I very much recommend the north course. It is a great value at $48 for non-locals.

Need a local player if you haven't played here before. The design is very tricked up. Blind shots, forced carrys and huge elevation changes are the rule.
The greens are nice but firm and a lot of slope. The fairways are getting thin and uneven, with several kinds of grass. They look patchy. Tees are bad. Sand is thin in the traps.
Service was adequate.
If you prefer traditional golf courses, don't play here. Nice views though.

Played 2-11-2012.
There are three or four different kinds of grass growing in the greens. This makes them very uneven and even bumpy. I don't know if it's the time of year or what, but they were the worst I have seen them in the 10 or so times I have played this course over the past 8 years.
Otherwise the course was great as always.

Played 11-20-2011. Weather was decent for this time of year (can be windy). Service is always excellent, everyone is friendly and helpful. This course has a straightforward design with many bunkers and water in play on several holes. The variety of holes is excellent. The greens are coming out of overseeding and the rye grass hasn't filled in all the way, leaving a "patchy" appearance. They are smooth and firm but a little slow due to the graininess. give them another couple of months and they will be excellent. I love the look of this course. The rye grass fairways and rough are very green and contrast well with the desert landscape. Houses on a few holes, but most are away from houses. It's fun; play it if you have the chance!

Played 9-25-11. perfect temperature; some wind. 1st time to break 100 on this course! very good service. Course in very good condition. Locals said greens were recovering from aeration. Greens were firm and fast and smooth for the most part. No GPS on carts. I thought they had GPS when I played this course in 2005. This course is pure target golf so bring your rangefinder!

Played 1-16-2011. Paid $37 online. The fairways, greens & tee boxes are green. The overseeded greens have many areas where the rye grass has not filled in, but are not bumpy. They have some, mostly smooth, brown patches. Course has some sharp doglegs, an island green (#6) and a very narrow opening between trees on #12. Otherwise pretty straightforward. Plenty of variety although very flat. Good views although right next to busy freeway. No houses. Good service. Everything you would expect. Half of driving range tees are covered and have a mist system for hot weather.
Hard to find a better value in Phoenix area for this time of year!

Definitely one of my favorite courses. Can't beat it for value. The canyon holes (4-7, 15-17) are unique, beautiful and tight. Holes 1, 10 and 12 are a little on the ugly side. The rest of the holes are above average in beauty. The tee shot on 6 will get your heart beating as it is uphill through a narrow cut in the rocks. The tee shots on 4, 5, 7, 16 and the shot off the cliff on 17 are just plain fun. Most holes have very good risk/reward values.

Potential criticisms are approximately six blind shots, strange mounds in the middle of #1 fairway, extreme tightness of #'s 4 & 6, and par 5's on the front nine of less than 450 yards from the white tees.

The course is always in very good condition during the late fall, winter and early spring months.

You will want to come back again and again!

This Is my home course. Play here once or twice a week. Staff is average in friendliness and helpfulness. Green fees are fair; not a bad value. Course is straight forward with a good variety of holes. No holes a very long. Most are straight. A couple of short doglegs; one with water guarding the green. Houses line the fairways. Course conditions depend a lot on volunteer work by the homeowners. Several tees are not level. The fairways usually have plenty of grass. Most fairways are tree-lined. If you play it as it lies, straying from the fairway can be hard on your clubs as there is much hard pan. The greens are surprisingly good. They are bent grass and can be pretty fast. The bunkers are mainly dirt, with a little sand on top. Spring is the best time to play here, but can be windy.

Played 10-16-09 at 1PM. Green fee: $45 (twilight). Very warm and breezy. October is the worst month to play this course and yet is still great! Tees, fairways, and bunkers are coming into shape and posed no problems. Greens are still coming out of overseeding/aeration and are a little bumpy and slow. Temporary green on #8. Cart girl came around 1 time. The excellent design and beautiful landscaping of this course make it worth playing even when it is not at its best!

Played 6-5-09 in morning. Nice relatively cool day. Played for AZ resident rate. Not the best value for $70 but not the worst either. They are rebuilding the cart path on holes 1-4 so must dodge construction crews, equipment, etc. They are sticky about pace of play and the course is difficult, so not for inexperienced players. The ranger came around as many times as the refreshment cart making sure we didn't fall behind. This was a little tough on my teenage son.
The course has nice mountain views and all the hazards you can handle! Greens are contoured and coming out of aeration, so not super smooth like late summer or winter.

Good, straightforward, desert course. Very good shape. Nice, contoured greens. Beautiful, fairly new clubhouse. Staff was very friendly and helpful. One group of players very rude to my fourteen year-old son, making comments about "teaching" him in spite of the fact he shot 98! Excellent value, especially for locals.
