I have been playing golf for over 40 years. I am not any better now than when I started. The only thing that has improved is my passion for the game. It may border on an addiction. I enjoy playing at different courses early in the morning. It doesn't matter to me if I warm up first or not. Hit a few putts a couple of practice swings and let's go and get out ahead of that five-some :>)
Golf is a game played against no foe.

Some ball marks but far fewer than I am used to. I thought they were an 8+. Fairways are always thin here. That is part of the links allure. You will get some thin lies. You will need to adjust your game to the course. The course will not adjust to you. (Wow that was profound.)
I was told by staff that it was purchased by the owners of Redhawk. Staff is great and some good deals in the pro shop can be had. Prime Rib on Thursday is very good. » CloseTPC Las Vegas Las Vegas, NVReviewed by: pfuzzard, Huntington Beach Played Monday as part of the Nature Valley Amateur. Very nice course in very good shape. Best putting day I have had in months. Lots of wasted areas and desert comes into play. Some forced carries off the tee. Downhill Par 3 #2...stay right. Left is lateral and unplayable. Very nice golf course would love a second chance at this. Plays like a resort course on steroids. » CloseTook a group out to Eagle Glen. Even though they had a special for $50 after 9am the GM gave us the deal at 7:22. Nice touch. Doubt he can do it all the time. Course was not very crowded in the morning. Group ahead of us had holes open in front of them but we still played in 4:20. No fivesomes today. That's a big help. Course was a lot busier when we left.
Greens were firm and not as fast as you think. I thought they rolled very well. I did not take advantage of that. Bunkers were in good shape. The traps on #11 were in the process of being maintenanced.
It was a very good experience. My last round here was not as we were behind a very slow fivesome. One of my favorite tracks. Starter Jim was great. And Jan who took my reservation was very nice. Hope to get back there soon. » ClosePlayed the North course at 230 this afternoon. Service always great. Greens were smooth and medium speed. Slow into the grain away from the ocean. A little speedier with the grain towards the ocean. A tad slow at 4:45 but I really didn't mind as the views are great. We could hear the bell that rings on the buouy at the entrance to Newport harbor. We also heard the sea lions barking. Very good day ended with a beer watching the sunset from the clubhouse bar. » ClosePlayed 7-1 at 630am with jfuzz. Teamed up with 2 singles. Behind the dreaded 5some. Course was in pretty good shape. Minimal amount of unrepaired ball marks. Looks like they put new sand in the bunkers as it was very soft and made for a few fried egg lies in our group. #3 tee box was uneven but the rest were ok. I like the course and will be back. » Close
