Grew up in North Carolina, the Golf State. Good junior golfer. Degreed in Turfgrass Science, specializing in Golf Course Operations from North Carolina State University. Spend +30yrs in the golf course business, first as a Class A Superintendent. (Pinehurst #1,#6, Pine Needles, Golden Horseshoe GC). From 1981-86, became Director of Golf (Savannah, GA). 1986-1996, Southern Regional Agronomist/Acquisition for the American Golf Corporation with oversight of 19 courses, VA thru FL. Georgia Representative for the USGA Green Section. Independent golf course consultant working closely with Hale Irwin's Golf Management Company, Brassie Golf. Blessed to have worked with several noted golf course architects, Tom/George Fazio, Ellis Maples, Trent Jones, SR/JR, Pete Dye, Michael Hurdzan, Garrett Gill and George Williams just to name a few. A very serious fall, 1992, sidelined me from golf for 23 years. I have no memories of how I use to play though I was a 3 handicap when the accident occurred. Nine lower back surgeries/procedures, right knee replacement, major heel surgery 12/18 and non-diabetes neuropathy, has created challenges in enjoying the Game without pain and medications.
