Played Alhambra as a walk up single on 7/4/2010. Course was in very good shape with smooth greens. Customer service was great. Please note that the new scorecard has a yardage for a new set of back "black" tees. The old back tees, the blues, were listed at 5212 yards on this short par 70 course. The new scorecard has yardage of 5266 for the blues and 5461 for the blacks with no USGA/Slope ratings yet for the latter. In most cases, there are not new tee boxes on each hole, rather new black tee markers have been placed at the tips of the existing back tee boxes. Usually 5 to 10 yards behind the blues. One exception is #3 where the tee box has actually been built back some 40 yards. It is now 293 from the tips and more difficult to drive the green. #4 is another short par 4, 256 from the blues, but with a new black tee marker of 276 yards up on the tee used for the par 3 #15 which goes the opposite direction. I think putting the tees at the tips could help the pace of play at this course. Some of the par 4's were so short that a long hitter may have to wait for the green to clear in order to tee off. This could happen several times a round. Now, there are more par 4's in the 300 yard range that had been 260 yards, so the green should be just out of reach for all but the longest hitters. A drive and a pitch will make for less backups.
