Played walking golf with my nephew Friday morning and were paired up with a couple of of ladies who acquitted themselves well on the course. Probably because it is inexpensive+occasional fivsomes, this course is notorious for being busy and slow. Our tee time was for 9:25 and we probably teed off around ten. That actually worked in my favor as I got hung up getting to the course. I raced to get there to just before the scheduled time and able to pay up, hit some shots, putt, and get a little loose before stepping up to the tee. The course was busy and, while slow, it was generally steady with the longest backup being two groups ahead of us on the 9th tee. I think we came in at just under five hours. On a Friday or weekend, I can deal with that. Being at least ten years since the first and last time I played this course. I remembered a couple of elevation changes, but thought of it as predominently flat. In reality it's more of a mix with some seriously blind shots thrown in the mix. We're talking muni standards here, but I thought the course was in pretty nice condition. Greens were medium quick and seemed to frequently roll further than expected. I didn't hit a bunker all day, so I can't address them other than to say they seemed okay watching others hit out with some good results. Tee boxes were very good and generally pretty level and the fairways had generally good, not lush, coverage and a fair amount of roll. Some occasional tight lies but not really often. I enjoyed the round and the course. Any eccentricities to the layout I chalked up to the course's particular character and enjoyed the challenge. The crowds and pace are things to be considered, but if you can hit this course on a non-peak day and aren't looking to get in and out fast, I think it's a fun course course in good shape for a pretty low fee.
