No areation to speak of yet. These greens were FAST. Played Friday Twilight March 5 and not a soul on the golf course. Finished round in about 4.5 hours. Not bad for twilight and with enough light... Continue »

As you know local knowledge is key. That is where GREENSKEEPER.org comes into play. Tell me one source where everything you wanted to know about a golf course is available. Also tell me where you can find local courses to that golf course you're inspecting.... no other site does it quite like we ...

This is the most difficult driving hole on the course because of the small stand of trees on the left at 150 yards. They will block your approach. At the right center of the fairway are a number of mounds, unique to the course, that give very unlevel lies, requiring that you choke up and use more club. Although the approach looks downhill, it doesn't play that way. The green slope is extreme, and uphill putts need to be struck more firmly than they appear. A long downhill putt will be very difficult to gauge if the pin is cut on the front third of the green. Hit and hope...

The 11th green is easy enough to read -- a lot of break, but pretty straightforward -- but difficult to putt. The slope is from front left to back right, so approach shots into the middle of the green will feed to the back, and usually onto the collar or into the rough. All things considered, it's better to be right of the flag, because it's an uphill putt. The hole plays into the wind for the second shot most of the time, but it's also downhill, so that evens out. If you are unlucky enough to be on the bank above the green on the left, and the pin is left of center, take your medicine and take the bogey. You cannot stop the ball close to the hole unless you flop a shot onto the collar.
