It's late summer at Scholl so that means fairways are dry and brown! Luckily, most holes you don't need to play from them. Greens looked pretty good overall actually, with the usual un-repaired ballmarks. Slow and somewhat bumpy they were still fairly playable given the severe slopes you encounter here. Tee boxes shambolic and most traps looked like packed gravel (wasn't in any so can only make cosmetic observation). Still, for 20 bucks on the weekend it's a fun time with lots of challenging holes and although it's short you still have to think your way around to score well. Front 9 is flattish parkland style while most of the back nine is a very challenging (and hilly) trek through a scrub covered mountainside. 13, 14 and 15 are as good a trio of holes as you'll play on any muni in LA county. Try it out for a fun and challenging round.
