The course is in overall good condition. The greens rolled good with medium/fast speed. The greens are firm so land a little short of back pins. The fairways are in good condition with some GUR areas. The rough and tee boxes are good. The 2 bunkers I was in were very good. The course is hilly with a few tightish driving holes. Chipping can be a challenge if you short side yourself. There are some carries off the tee so choose your tees wisely. The staff is very friendly.

Played 5/7 on a click4teetimes rate, $75. Well worth the price. The course was nicely trimmed and very green. There were several spots that were GUR, and a couple fairways looked like they were being reseeded, yet was very playable. The greens were excellent. This course has a nice layout, which can be tough for some as its requires straight shots for the most part. I like how nearly every hole presents its own challenge. Several elevation changes, several doglegs, (probably more elevation changes than most). Last time I played here the homes that line the fairway were still being built, now they're done. While I don't care for courses that have homes that line the fairways, these were fairly far away, and in many cases further up and away, so they didn't really seem to bother me. Service was very nice as well. A solid course, a nice layout, and appears to be in very good condition right now. For under $100, this course is a steal!

The course was in very good shape. Tee boxes were recently punched, most were fairly level, but on the dry/brown side. The fairways are starting to get lush, rolled well and not many divots when we played. The greens were lush and on the med fast speed with no ball marks, but varied from about 9 to 10 on stimp. Non one in front of us, no one pushing us, played a leisurely 4hr 6 min round. Cart gal game around several times during our round. Beer was cold at the 19th hole.

Played 5/4/13. Conditiones improving nicely. A few areas of GUR on a couple of fairways, but very good condition for the majority. Greens have healed from late March aeration, and have firmed up in typical Black Gold fashion. Firm and fast throughout, staying below hole will certainly help your score. Pace of play was a bit slower than normal, as shotgun fourballs were in play for first 11 holes. Still enjoyably round, great staff and service throughout. Highly recommend.

Played Black Gold on Sunday. Got there early to eat some lunch and hit balls. The food in the club house was great with a great variety of items to eat. Defiantly recommend eating there before or after your round. (great view of the 18th hole on the patio) The back 9 was in a lot better shape than the front. Almost all the tee boxes on the course were air rated and dead. The greens were pretty smooth but on all the holes the breaks went away from the cup so with any little mistake would guarantee you a 3 putt. The rough in most places was lush and perfectly cut. The bunkers were in perfect condition. Fairways had some areas under repair but for the most part were good. Back 9 was defiantly in a lot better shape than the front 9 and less demanding and more enjoyable but as a whole Black Golf is a very good golf club.

Played Black Gold today @ 9:30 am. POP was 4 hours. 20 mph winds make this course a tough test from the Blue's. Fairways are in good shape and rough is good too. A few areas on the various holes on the back nine were GUR and sprayed with white paint. Customer service was good and cart girl came around 4 times. Greens are almost recovered from aeration. They putted true @ 9.5. Sand traps were fluffy and tee boxes were in good shape. The layout is unique with many elevation changes and forced carries. Many holes will favor a fade off the tee. Enjoyed the experience, only if you find a deal online. Rack rates are steep for this course, however, it is a nice facility. Had lunch @ clubhouse and portions were huge and delicious.

Played 4/13/13. Overall, average condition. Greens are about 80% recovered from mid March aerartion, and are still slightly bumpy in spots, and a little slower than usual. Fairways are a mixed bag right now. Thin in spots, GUR in others, and a couple are under larger repair (1 and 9 come to mind). There seemed to be a lot of unrepaired divots, which are as much the players' responsibilty as the course. Like many course, players dont seem to care about filling divots. BG has many sand / mix bottles available, on carts, in fairway, on tees, but too many players ignore. Dissapointing. Course overall in typical early spring revcovery and transition phase. Always great customer service, and good POP. Great layout and always a fun round. Enjoy.

Played here twilight on Wednesday 4/3. Greens continue to improve from 3/19-20 aeration. Improving at a very rapid rate. Holes that get more sun seem to be healing faster than those that get some shade. No real reason to wait to play here, as even only 15 days from maintenance, roll better than many courses in the area. Job well done BG. Course is a little on the dry side but very playable, and as mentioned in previous reviews, kikuya transition is also coming through nicely. I'll be back this weekend.

Played 3/31/13. Aerated greens on 3/19-20, so still in recovery phase. Overall, although, decent shape given just 10 days of recovery. Influence from aeration more noticeable as putts slow down. With good warm forecast for the next week, green should be rolling very nice again, mid-month. Rest of course of shaping up well. Fairways continue to get better and better with each month of kikuya transition. Some bare spots, but are marked as GUR. Bunkers very good shape as well. Always great service, and as mentioned before, a great outdoor patio19th hole, overlooking the 18th green.
