Due to tournaments and aeration we found a great time here today. First off and POP was at 3H. First time for me here and I was surprised that the last posting was by Weber back in Feb. I found the course to be very nice and to my liking. And the conditions of the course, other than the dampness from overnight are very good. Yes it is a short course but it has some teeth left in it and for $37 and cart a good deal. Tee boxes were all playable but some could use some leveling in the future and they do need to move the markers around more. Fairways though damp gave good lies and a fair amount of roll out. Rough was thick and damp outside of the fairways and played like it. There are also creeks and culverts along with OB areas that can get you in trouble as well. Though there are houses along some of the fairways most of them, except on # 17 really do not come into play. In one trap it was just fine. Greens were clean, devoid of divots (wow) released shots and chipped and putted very well all round. Customer service at check in was great. Did not stay for any food but their dining room and outside patio look very nice and comfortable. There is also a nice driving range behind the pro shop. Was not crowded when we teed off but it was busy when we made the turn and luckily we did not encounter any back 9 players. Recommended.

First out at 6am in the dark. COP on the first three holes (I was walking so did not impact me) which was the right call, because even now those fairways still showed just how muddy it must have been. The fairways did improve as the round progressed. Tee boxes showing a lot of wear. Bunkers were very inconsistent. Some had sand, some had very little sand, but none were maintained. Greens were the best part of the course, but not really all that great either.

The course was busy even before 6am, and there is a lot of back nine play, so it doesn't pay to zip around the front side, because you're just going to wait & wait on the back. Not my favorite course, but it's inexpensive ($22) and easy to get out, so every few years I return, always making a vow it will be my last, but I suspect in a couple years, I'll do it again!

Nice to get back to Fullerton. I have always enjoyed this short track despite the sometime questionable conditions. Greens were much better than I remember them. The rest of the course has always been inconsistent with respect to condition, so having nice greens made the round very enjoyable. Typical thin/bare areas in the fairways and a number of tees beat up, but still playable.

As the prior review suggests, this executive course in not flat or boring. Offers some interesting fun holes. I must admit, as I age, walking this course has a bit more difficult, despite its short yardage. Not hard, just harder than it used to be. (thanks father time)

Staff is always great here and the senior rate makes this course very affordable

Played at Fullerton GC for the first time ever this weekend with my monthly golf group and I found it to be quite a unique experience. This is an executive course with tons of layout character, but less-than-optimal conditions prevent it from being a true 'little gem.'

Executive courses that I've played in the area, such as my home course of Westchester, or Westlake for example, tend to be pretty flat, pretty benign and simply serviceable golf in many respects. Fullerton throws those 'short course' rules out the window. It only has two par 5s but they're anything but standard issue. There is a section with four par 3s in a row. There are some significant elevations and doglegs that make this layout seem more quirky country club than relaxed executive course. I just found it be quite fun.

Unfortunately the current course conditions don't really add to that potential since you're going to find lots of thin and dirt areas on the course, and some vagabond rough or penalty areas that are far from player friendly. Bunkers were actually in pretty decent shape but the tee boxes were definitely on the poor side (we played from the blue tees). The greens were the highlight without a doubt, running very nicely and deceptively quick. They stand out like sore thumbs in comparison to the rest of the course and really saved the day in many ways.

POP was very good for us as we had four groups for the day and started with a 9am tee time. Minimal waiting on only a few holes and it was one of our groups ahead of us so it was no problem. We also had cart service a few times which was nice on a busy Saturday, but there's also a very convenient little coffee shop that has everything you need adjacent to the starter's office. Golf carts are a little on the older, run-down side, but get the job done.

All in all I had a very fine little experience at Fullerton if mostly for the joy of an interesting and fun short-course layout. To me, the place has character, and if it had the conditions to back it up, I would have no issue spending my money or the time it takes to get there. I hope they give it a nice overhaul sometime soon.

I'd not played Fullerton for a few years, but since it's almost impossible to "walk on" courses anymore, this was one of the few options open for me. I arrived just before 6am, and asked the guy in the pro shop when people would begin to hit off, and was told that players had already tee'd off 20 minutes ago. Now bare in mind it is pitch black at 6am now. As other people were now showing up and they indicated they intended to hit off right away, off I went in the black of night. Thank goodness I carry a flashlight, because it was not until #4 could I see anything. Crazy, but that's golf in the Covid world now The greens were good, by far the best part of the course. Bunkers could have been good as they had plenty of sand. Just needed to be maintained. The rest of the course is awful ! Fairways, rough, tee boxes - all in really poor condition. But since the place was really crowded by the time I finished at 8:30am, so I guess why put any $$ into the course when every tee time is sold out ? I suspect it will be a while before I return again, but I have to admit I did enjoy the round despite the "dark beginning" and the conditioning. By the way, the guy in the pro shop was great. Friendly and accommodating.

A good friend and I met up to play Fullerton as the 2nd group out(a single went out before us and was running from hole to hole, strange), 1/18/21. Not many people around this morning and we had the course to ourselves. As of right now, Fullerton isn't in great shape, there is almost no level shots anywhere on the course. The fairways are chewed up, there is a mix of several types of grass and divots have never been fixed. There was no way to know what would happen when you hit the ball. I found it so hard to get the ball up in the air off of the fairway. The rough is pretty much non-excitant. The greens were painted earlier that day so my right hand was green after a few holes. The greens were very difficult to read today, each one was a different speed. We spent time after each hole trying different putts, after all there was no one behind us. We started to realize that each hole created a different green issue, some were hard and dry and others were wet and soft, and some were painted green so much it gave you a poor read. The tee boxes were without question the worst I have seen ever. There was no grass on a few holes, and some I could not get a tee into the ground. That actually was not as bad as the fact that they are not level, the biggest pet peeve I have with courses. If I can't get level footing then I struggle with my drives. A course like Fullerton has a lot of dog-legs, and some elevation changes, so the un-level tee boxes helped cause me to struggle even more than I needed (not good today). The sand traps were the best part of the course today, soft and very playable. While most of the course was wet in the morning, the sand somehow remained fluffy and easy to get the club under. The front office guys are always great at getting you on the course asap, kudos to them.

I know this seems harsh, but I will always review a course with honesty. I have played here a few times before and the conditions were much better. Overall, I like the course layout, it presents challenges without really being all that difficult. This course is my nemesis, which only makes me want to go after it again. The question of should you play here or not really depends on what you can get the green fees for. I believe we overpaid at 39 to walk and 14 more to ride, I think 20 to walk is about right. This course can get backed up later in the morning rounds on weekends as well. Til' we meet again Fullerton!

Played here 9/26/20. 4th Tee time off on a Saturday, and still slow. Fullerton is the type of golf course you need to play 3 to 4 times to really understand the tricks and secrets. The Front 9 isn't hard, its short and straight. The back is where things can get odd. Holes 12 and 13 have a bike/running trail. You will hear people yelling as the bikers approach the runners. Honestly its kinda funny. I mysterously lost 2 balls here when I was convinced I saw it land. The greens were good and the fairlways had some spots, tees were fine. The type of course you could play everyday, and the type of course you might hate to play everyday. Usually a great deal, I wouldn't pay over $40 to play here.

I played on Wednesday, teeing off at about 10:15am. I have been playing here often, since I moved to Placentia. I like to play this course, because it requires me to hit many side hill shots, and there are constant elevation changes. Par is only 67, and the slope rating is 115 from the blues, but I find the practice value of playing here is very high.

Course conditions are not up to the standards of the higher priced Orange County courses, but they are decent and very much in line with the green fees. The tee boxes are acceptable, with much more damage on the shorter par threes. Tee to green is mostly fine (for a muni),with some areas a little more distressed than others. The bunkers are ok, with the darker, heavier sand. The greens rolled pretty well: Minimal ball marks and mostly smooth at medium speed. Pace of play is always a little better than it seems (about four hours), because there are a higher number of par threes. Customer service is efficient and friendly.

This place is the definition of a dog track. Course had no alert online but they punched and did an insane amount of sand on their greens while people were playing this morning. Absolutely unplayable greens following punching, never seen so much sand.

Course is short, gimmicky and winds through old houses. Fairways are very firm and thin with tons of bare spots but maybe the highlight of the course if there is one? Rough is anything from hardpan to 4 inches of thick stuff.

Awful course design, bad conditioning, and cant imagine the greens being even remotely decent within the next 3-4 weeks. Only paid 25 bucks and still no chance I'll be heading back this way.
