Played on 06/16 and teed off at 10:30. Some wind and slightly cooler temps made the course more challenging than it normally would be and made it a lot of fun. It had been years since I had been here and I forgot how cool the course is. Some great, quirky old features throughout. The conditions are probably about as good as it can get there now, so now's the time to play it. Greens rolled pretty true. 17's green has to be seen to be believed. Very cool. Fws for the most part were fine.

Rough around the edges? Sure. But it's fun golf for what it is, and $40 on the weekend in OC is a bargain. It's a cool, historic course. Get out there and see.

Played 6/3/18. Conditions are lower than the average muni but for the price, I can't complain... Tee boxes are mostly uneven and a bit torn up on the par 3s. This is the only place I have ever played where there are daisies growing on the tee boxes and the fairways. Fairways were green for the most part with good coverage (except hole 16), not many bare spots on most holes. Sand traps were ok, but were mostly dirt, not sand. Greens were fairly bumpy with some rolling fast and some slow -I'm not sure if they mow all of them at the same time. Overall good value for what you pay for...

It is my understanding that Willowick is closing in the near future ( At least a portion of the course anyway) so I was anxious to get back out and play there one last time. Secured a 6am tee time and based upon past experience, expected it tobe busy, but it was empty? I mean nobody!

Based upon the last few reviews, I did not expect conditions to be very good, but they were far better than anticipated. In fact the greens were fairly good, the best part of the course. Fairways were just so-so, with areas of dirt, but for the most part very playable. One bunker I found was very good, well maintained with plenty of sand. A few of the tee boxes had some issues.

I have never played here where the back side wasn't crowded, but today, in beautiful weather ...... nobody there? Even when we finished there was no one teeing off on #1 and nobody coming up #9. Out threesome took it's time and finished right on three hours, because there was nobody within several holes behind us, so we just strolled along.

Enjoyed the round. Will be sorry to see this place go away. There is a definite need for golf courses like Willowick. Inexpensive, easy to walk, playable for everyone, little risk of losing balls, etc.

This course was never great but there was always a tee time available... the problem now is that it's in terrible shape. The tee boxes are beat up, the fairways are in rough shape, the sand traps are okay, they're playable and the greens are somewhat okay but many have a camouflage motif or like the color of a leopard frog, hard to describe, you'd have to see it for yourself. The greens rolled okay, definitely on the slower side but many of the greens have so many kinds of grass and color variations that it's distracting, I suppose a positive note would be that they're mostly green. We went off the 1st tee a few minutes after 12:00 and we expect a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round. Unfortunately this last round was not enjoyable even at $29. It was a bit slow and a couple groups started skipping holes and jumping out of sequence in a bid to get in front of the slow play. The problem was it was somewhat crowded and play was slow everywhere. I think what upset our group was when we were on the 12th green and putting when a group jumped in front of us to our next tee. Words were exchanged and all they could say was they were trying to play through... except they had to wait on the group in the fairway so we had to wait on them. We called the club house to complain and they said they would send someone out but no one ever came out. To make things worse we were on hole 15 and one of our carts started dying. We called the club house and they put us on hold, then they hung up on us. When we called again we didn't get an answer. By the 17th hole the dying cart would barely move, we used one cart to push the other. After finishing we dropped off the cart and was going to speak with someone but at 5:15 the club house was locked up and dark, there was no one around. We even asked the person moving the carts and he said to go in and see the starter. We explained that it was locked up and he replied "then I don't know". I won't be going back there until things improve... I'm not sure what happened to all the homeless tents along the chain link fence that borders hole 9 but they are all gone so it doesn't look so trashy... on the other hand there's more graffiti everywhere (a lot more) and it looks bad... hopefully the course will be making some improvements in the near future to get this course into better shape.

TPC Santa Ana. While this place has never been Augusta like when it comes to conditions it is currently in pretty bad condition (the bathroom by #'s 5 and 15 is disgusting). Fairways were the worst, bare spots everywhere, inconsistent grass height. Tees were pretty bad though you could usually find a good spot. Bunkers were hit and mis, mostly miss. Cart paths are really bad in many places. Greens were actually ok (with the exception of a couple really crappy ones) but really slow.

This is a fun layout with some holes that make you think off the tee (and quite a few that don't lol) but I don't think I will be back until things get a little better.

So it's not the nicest course around but there's almost always a tee time available on any day and if you find a cheap special then it's even better. It's a flat course with no water hazards and the layout is decent. I played there on 8/6/17 and I can't believe the conditions, I'm not sure what's happened but it's in need of some maintenance. Generally the course is in OK condition but currently many of the fairways need to be cut. It got deep in the middle of some fairways... and the rough in many areas was so thick it was almost impossible to find your ball. On the other hand the greens were not beat up, most were soft and lush although a bit on the slow side. I'll give it a month and go back and see if things have improved but if not then I'll be crossing this one off the list. Other issues not related to the play-ability of the course is all the trash bins on the course were over flowing and trash was everywhere. Also there were people (non-golfers) just hanging out on the course... some appeared to be locals and others were definitely homeless looking for some refuge from the sun and heat.

TPC Santa Ana is in halfway decent shape! Played after work, $28 to ride, just over 3 hour round. Tees are typical, hit and miss, but no problem finding a decent area to hit from. Fairways are pretty ok, mostly good lies with some bare and burned out spots. The rough is semi diabolical, some areas will eat your ball and not spit it out. Bunkers are average, some with weeds, but playable. Greens were fairly smooth, plenty receptive, and a touch faster than normal Wick speeds. Fun round today.

Fairways were hit and miss. Many areas were nice but there are a lot of thin/dead areas. Also, there was a LOT of puddling and overly saturated areas all over the course. I have to think this is due to some faulty sprinklers because it has not rained here in a while.

Greens were really slow and pretty bumpy (but far from unplayable) with many unrepaired ball marks.

Rough was pretty long (but not hard to play from) in many places.

Tees are hit and miss. Some nice areas to play from some not so nice.

Bunkers were pretty good.

If you can snag a good deal on GolfNow it's a real fun track.

Played this morning. Greens are in terrible shape. Aerated recently but that's not the biggest problem. Either they have not been mowed or some foreign strain of grass has invaded. Greens are blotchy and spotty, look like a map of South Pacific islands. Very slow, erratic, with ball jumping all over the place.
