Nice to get out early without the threat of frost or CPO due to rains. As they will be punching greens next week, the greens as you might expect are really nice right now. Roll true with a quick pace. Fairways are lush and have good coverage. Bunkers are great as usual. Very busy this morning, but able to get out first, so pace of play not an issue. Other than dealing with a lot of maintenance, which goes with the territory, very enjoyable.

Out early as usual. The course weathered the horrendous winds of Thursday. (They closed both courses because of the potentially dangerous conditions) Did not see downed trees, but much of the sand has been blown out of the bunkers. Greens rolled very well, but I expected the speed to be much faster, almost to the point of being unplayable, but they were only about 10-11. Fairways have good coverage, tee boxes are nice, bunkers excellent as usual. The rough still has some issues.

My complaint is that they continue to keep many holes carts on path. (However, yesterday during the Spring Classic tournament, all the holes were open, but today, we were back to several being CPO) That is not right! But I was told that on the South course, where the Tournament is being played today. there are no new cart path restrictions.

First time playing the North this year due to rain and a busy schedule.

Course is in fantastic condition and it really drains well after the storms. Maintenance crew has learned how to keep the course in great shape. Greens have good speed, hold very well, are not too hard or too soft. Tee boxes are perfect, so are the fairways. COP for a few holes which is ok because we have really bad cart drivers out here who are oblivious to the damage they cause.

The five year program for Superintendent was a big success as the treelines were cut back to stimulate air circulation. It made the course a bit easier as some shotlines improved because there were no trees in the way. Sand traps had plenty of sand. Drainage improved so much because they unplugged all the blocked culverts that had been overgrown in the previous decades.

Now if they could only improve the food experience without charging fine dining prices....

After having the course closed for several days because of the rains, it was nice to get back out on the course, albeit with carts on the path. Frost delays this morning, which was a surprise because of all the moisture still on the course? Played on Saturday as well and the difference between yesterday and today was remarkable. Really soaked on Saturday, but fairly dry today. Couple more days and things should be closer to normal.

Greens rolled well, but a bit slower than usual. Bunkers, tee boxes, fairways were excellent. Still some issues with the rough. Conditions have been tough between the cold mornings, carts on path almost every day. But it's a whole lot better than it would be if I was still living in Chicago, if you can call it living..

Course is in nice shape right now, good coverage in the fairways, although tight lies are the norm, which is what "good" players prefer, but makes it a challenge for those of us "regular" players. Greens roll well with decent speed. Bunkers as usual are wonderful, as are the tee boxes. Still some issues with the rough.

Also appreciate that they have allowed carts off the path on more holes now, but I'm sure after the rain this coming weekend, we'll be cart path only again all next week.

Got out on a Tuesday when rain threatened all day but never happened. Course is in beautiful condition and greens were running about 11 speed, not bad since they hadn't been mowed since Sunday morning. Firm conditions around the greens makes chipping less of an issue when you can putt from ten feet off. Not sure what the club is planning to do with a 70 ft tall dead oak tree in the middle of the 17th fairway. Sand traps were easy to play out of, tee boxes and fairways had very good coverage. Rough is dormant bermuda and is very challenging with opportunity for flyers. Greens held well and putted smoothly. POP was four hours. Overall a very fun time.

Fairways have good coverage and are nice and green. Still some issues with the rough in places. Tee boxes, bunkers are excellent. Other than having too many holes still cart path only, the course is a joy to play. Does not look like that will change any time soon????

Out early as usual on a beautiful autumn morning. Greens have recovered from the aeration, but still have not regained their speed, but much better than they were a week ago. Getting there! Fairways are very nice, as are the tee boxes and bunkers. However, to protect (?) the rough, they continue to have 4 holes CPO, with no end when those holes will return to normal.

With the forecasted rain this week, I suspect it will be CPO for the entire course afterwards. I am rethinking my decision to use carts here.

As we prepare to close the North Course for 8 days to aerate greens, course is in nice condition right now. Greens have nice pace, guessing about 10.5 and are super receptive. Good coverage in the fairways. Tee boxes also in great shape and the bunkers are great as usual.

My only complaint is they seem to always have multiple holes with cart path only. I have inquired as to the reason, and never receive a reasonable explanation. Not looking forward to moving to the South course, which will be CPO for several weeks on all holes, to allow the overseeding to recover.
