Played 6-17, 3pm tee time. finished in just under 5 hours. The course is in great condition right now, they will be punching the greens very soon. The rough is 8-10 inches long in some places, watch out. The course has elevated, beautiful views of La Qunita and the surrounding mountains. I would play this place again in a heart beat.

Man what a course. Thought the course was beautiful - got out there right before it starts hitting 100 and above - pace of play was good 3.5 -4 hours (we didn't know where to hit the ball) :)

Proshop was nice and Hal gave great service. Real nice gentleman. The entire staff was very nice with us. Now on to the course.

Greens were in good shape - there were slick and fast - but very puttable. Lots on tiers on the greens, had to be on the right tier or face a very nasty putt.
fairways were immaculate, with just a couple of wet spots. Very green and rolled pretty darn good. Bunkers, and there are a lot of them, were just okay. Some of them were waste areas with rocks, some of the bunkers were wet and didn't have enough sand in them, ores were very compacted like hitting off dirt. Not what would be expected from this caliber golf course.
Tee boxes were in good shape, but had some divot damage, for as many tee's we found on the tee boxes, people don't seem to use them very much especially on the 3 pars.
The rough was wow - don't go into the second cut - they have this stuff (grass, 3different types maybe) growing in the second cut - it was to my ankles - my feet literally got lost in the rough - fair warning don't hit in there it's a bad thing.

Overall it was a great experience, golf course was in great shape - and it is definitely a course that can be put in the la Quinta rotation. You will enjoy it, except for the heat.

Played the Mountain course this morning. Wanted to go to PGA West but everything was booked up. With the exception of a frost delay, I was very pleasantly surprised. The course was in magnificent shape and very challenging with fast smooth greens. I hadn't played this course in over 9 years and that was in the heat of summer. Had a great time, GPS on the carts
and just a beautiful morning with no wind. Stay below the hole. Staff was very pleasant.

Beautiful course, very well manicured, bunkers were immaculate. Greens super true and super fast Bermuda--spend a few minutes getting up to speed on the practice green. STAY BELOW THE HOLE! Front nine has some nice views and mtn side holes, back nine is sweet and moves through nice homes and at the base of the mtns. Very cordial staff, well worth the green fees if you are ready to plunk down a few. Play this one and PGA West TPC Stadium course--a great day.

Course was in general decent shape but definitely not worth the price of admission. The wind was howling which made the course much more difficult. Bring a sweater if you tee off after 11 because you will be finishing the last 6 holes in the shade, which is easily 15 degrees colder than the sun holes.

Disappointments? Greens have been recently sanded, so shots aren't holding at all. The greens were super slow. The course was cart path only which slowed up play for the entire course. The driving range was irons only which is a bit brutal given how important driving the ball straight is on this course.

This place is a bit overrated given the price point. I'd give it a 5/10 with its saving grace being excellent customer service.

played this course 10/26 on an ezlinks time as i was in the area. they will close in a few days for overseeding according to the schedule. greens were hard and fast, course was in generally only fair condition. fairways were somewhat brown and no rough to speak of. teeboxes in good condition. this course plays short with a lot of 'target' type shots. a lot of tee shots are difficult to visualize from the teebox as there are blind landing fairway areas. good customer service and cart lady came by twice. overall, okay experience but not my favorite palm springs area course.

no wonder they called it the mountain course. some of the holes are right along side mountains that if u tee shots stray, you will likely hit the mountain side. course was in good condition. green hold approach shots and roll true. roughs were brutal. my only complaint was there were no marshalls to keep the pace of play in check. was told course was wide open but it turns out waiting on all the holes..

We played this course last week during our stay at La Quinta resort. It has a few interesting holes along the mountains, but other than that not too inspiring. Conditions were good, but pace of play was horrific. We called the pro shop to inquire, and it wasn't until the third call that a marshal came around, and all he said was that the course was full. Well, duh. How is it that other course can be full yet the pace is not slow? Do your job! Because of that we played all the rest of our golf over at PGA West, where they seemed to care about pace of play, and never did play Dunes, the sister course to the Mountain course.

The Mountain course is not in very good shape. The greens are showing a lot of wear. The fairways and rough was in very good shape. The course is the standard Pete Dye golf course with deep bunkers railroad ties. It was a very enjoyable afternoon despite the 115 degree temperature.
