Played the Blues (6642/72.3/133) with GK Guru's David, Matt & Gus early morning. Fun group to play with! We had a frost delay and it was CPO for the 1st few holes. The weather was calm and sunny. Cold when we started around 8 but had warmed up to perfect conditions by the time we finished a little after noon. Celebrity has a unique way of getting to a par 72. Fourteen par 4's with only two par 5's and two par 3's. Normally, that would be a detriment, but the par 4's here all have a different feel/look, good mixture of longer and risk/reward holes to keep things fun and interesting. This course would be a beast to walk as numerous holes are a ways from the last green. Tougher than average layout, up/down hills and the large greens complexes are challenging. The over seeded tees were lush with few divots. No challenges getting level lies. The over seeded fairways were very lush and provided excellent lies. The over seeded rough was very lush and not overly penal. The sand traps were decently maintained with nice fine sand. The over seeded greens were nice. They putted medium fast, were smooth and even though firm, held well struck irons well. The customer service was exceptional as always here. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is always a plus. Cart person around numerous times. Excellent breakfast sandwich and Arnold Palmer before the round were very good. Very nice course in near immaculate condition. Highly recommended.

Played on MLK day. Great service everywhere at the facility. Conditions were perfect. Can’t imagine a course being better maintained. Great pace of play. Marshalls appeared to keep a good eye on the pace. Only complaint is the layout was uninspiring. I would have preferred it to play harder and faster, but that’s not the case.

IW Celebrity coueprse is absolutely breathtaking. Numerous flowers around the entire course including humongous flowerbeds at the corner of dog leg bends to help mark the fairway. Several water features (ponds, creeks, & waterfalls ) highlight the beauty of this course. Conditions are excellent tee to green. I will say the greens (which have much more undulations than the players course) were rolling slow today. I think the mower took the holiday off.

The only downside of this track is that it only has two par 3's and two par 5's on the entire layout. Other than that it has everything you want.

A par 5 with a good drive leaving you a go/no go over water to the green. Good stuff ! The course was in typical summer conditions. Fairway's lush and not much roll out. Greens were in good shape. Not their typical great, but in good shape. Rough thick enough to cause some issues, but still very playable. Service was fantastic. Thank you IWR for setting up a great day for our group. A great place for group play!

This place is growing on me. The layout demands attention, especially off the tee, to avoid the numerous bunkers and hazards awaiting you at the landing area. Conditioning was very similar to Eagle Falls in my previous review where the fairways and rough were very solid, especially for the desert in September, with greens lagging behind slightly. The greens were playing medium slow (well, except the front right pin on #11) with a few bumps from still faintly visible aeration marks. Bunkers were very good and the rough was consistent despite not being particularly penal. The beverage cart was roaming and we saw it MANY times during the round.
Very much recommended.

Played Indian Wells Golf Resort Celebrity Course as part of our GK Cup 10 Final with kassper7, lotrgolfer48 and nodoubles22. Tremendous match between lotrgolfer48 and nodoubles22. This course and facility provided the perfect stage.

I thought the Celebrity Course was in great summer shape … as expected. The service at the facility top notch … as expected. I say as expected because between all the rounds and outings I’ve hosted here, it’s always been excellent. In more detail, the tees, fairways and rough all were lush berumada grass groomed well. Granted this was the summer, which mean no signature flower beds and wall to wall rye grass, but still, great lies all day. The bunkers were in great shape as usual and play a major role in the difficulty and strategy. They are predominately deep faced, well positioned on every fairway and green. The greens, typical summer slow, not as smooth and fast as playing during season on rye grass greens but in very good condition none-the-less.

After our round, we had some good food and drinks celebrating the GK Cup 10 in the Vue restaurant upstairs. The have a tasty bar menu with burgers, nachos, good beer, etc. If you played golf you get some significant discounts on the menu. Nice comfortable place with a fun atmosphere.

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed playing here in the summer, you owe it to yourself to also come out here and play it when in the spring when its wall-to-wall bright green grass, flower beds galore and all the water features turned on. During early - late spring, Indian Wells Golf Resort is my definition of playing in a desert oasis.

I always like any excuse to play one of my favorite courses in the desert, so I tagged along with the GK Cup Final extravaganza. I don't think I've ever played Indian Wells this late in summer. With the grass being lighter and having some brown spots, along with the gloomy skies Saturday, it wasn't quite the ultra-pretty Celebrity presentation that I usually drool over. However, the course still plays great and there are never any complaints with service. As others have noted, the tee boxes, fairways and rough all had nice coverage. There were some weak spots and some soft/muddy areas, but mostly great lies to play from. The greens were receptive, still showing some signs of recent aeration. A tad bumpy and definitely on the slow side. I was only in one bunker. It was a little crusty on top, but just enough of softness I like underneath. I got up and down, so it worked just right for me! For late summer heading into fall maintenance soon, I would say the course is in pretty nice shape right now. Far from peak season, but that is to be expected at all desert courses in September. Celebrity is a fun and challenging layout, even though I always gripe a little about only having two par-3s and two par-5s. So weird and I can't post a Celebrity review without commenting about it! : )

Wow! That's the only word to describe my first time playing at Indian Wells. The Celebrity course not only lived up to its lofty billing, but for me completely and utterly surpassed expectations. It's hard for me to fathom what everyone else was saying that this place gets even BETTER during the high season, but I thought it was just a phenomenal experience, especially this late in the summer. I found conditions to be very good, again, despite others who had played here before saying it is usually in even finer condition. I guess what you don't know doesn't hurt you! From tee to green I spent the whole day (playing with Nick (Nickesquire), Mattias and Keith (Sixpez)) giddy with the place. I suppose the only weird quirk is realizing that there are only two par 5s and two par 3s throughout the layout, but each of the par 4 holes are so unique and fun that you barely notice. Greens weren't super fast but I found them in nice shape and good at holding shots. There seemed to be a wide variety of breaks and angles to work with on these greens with some being tougher than others along the way. But ultimately I could see them getting faster for the high season. I found the fairways to be very nice and lush with only the slightest of imperfections here or there, and the rough was cut to a very nice length to remain playable. Bunkers seemed to be just fine but of course everyone always wants more of the fluffy stuff, especially greenside. And the tee boxes (and variety of tees) were in good shape, however the blue tees we played from had not been reset on many of the holes after apparently an earlier tournament that day. No big deal - we set them up ourselves! We were absolutely blessed and lucky to get such an incredible rate for such a fantastic course - thanks to Johnny for getting that all set up for us. I really can't wait to get back out here and play this course again, and even the sister course Players 18. Also, would be a shame not to acknowledge all the great and helpful staff at IW. They did a top job of getting us out and giving us the details we needed to know. The upstairs restaurant was also very nice and some of us had a great post-GK Cup 10 time up there - congrats to Matt and Tim playing a heckuva round out there! The landscaping around the course is really beautiful. You can tell they moved a lot around to make this place what it is, and there's no shortage of faux waterfalls, creeks and lakes, but it's put together so well that none of it feels cheesy or ostentatious for its own sake. It just works really well and adds so much to the overall experience. So, in summary, yeah, this place rules.

Played 9-9-17. This was my third time playing this course and it just gets higher on my favorites list each time. Customer service was great from everyone- always friendly and so well organized. Other than being soggy from the morning rain, the fairways were lush and in really good shape. I was a bit disappointed that the usually beautiful fairway flower beds were bare, but I know they’ll be back in the spring. The sand in the zillions of bunkers wasn’t as deep as I’ve seen before but for me, that was a good thing. It was clean, soft and easy to get out of. The greens were a little slow but overall in good shape. The layout of the course is really fun. While still challenging, it is a very manageable length for me from the forward tees. I don’t think I would ever tire of playing here. Thank you, Matt, Tim and Greg for a very fun round. And many thanks to Johnny and Indian Wells for the great day!
