Played here this morning as the first stop on another short course checklist day. I booked a 7:36 hot deal through GN for a great $10 price, but there were some technical issues in the booking and GN had to call directly and book with the course on my behalf. Unfortunately there was a mix-up and the course had me down at 11:36. Luckily, I had my printed confirmation and they ultimately let me go, but the guy was giving me some grief even though I didn't do anything wrong. Perhaps he noticed my GK hat and finally decided to not further the frustration.

Anyway, I ended up going off by myself first at 7:00 and zipped around without any further hassle. The course was in decent shape overall. Tee boxes a bit chewed up in places, but fine. Between the tees and greens, the grass was relatively green, lush and decently maintained. The greens were pretty good, rolling at medium/slow speeds. There are no bunkers on the course, so nothing to rate there.

This is an okay par-3 course. Claims to be one of the longest par-3 courses anywhere and I can believe that with more long-ish holes than you'd expect on a course like this, and even one that is 240 yards! Otherwise a very basic and forgiving layout without much trouble to get into. They recently changed their name to "The Lights at Indio Golf Course" in order to promote the fact they are the valley's only night-lit course. Prices are reasonable here for what you get and the lights offer a little extra appeal if you want to get in a night round.
